We agree!!!
Is it true they'll re-issue Mark 5 too? It's my favorite suit because of the gun metal and red colors.
I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on this. The mark iv is my favorite suit and I don't wanna gamble to see if a die cast version will be made

I think a dc Mk4 is a for sure thing. It shares so much tooling with the dc Mk6. Just a guess though.
Even if the dc Mk4 is a sure thing, I am not sure when that might be, it could be years away. The dc Mk6 is a year away already even with the pre-order. They clearly aren't going in order and it's possible we might get a dc Mk7 or something else before the Mk4, I don't know. The Mk4 isn't my favorite, but if it were I would be tempted to get this reissue of the plastic one knowing that it's possible we won't see a dc for years. Of course, I don't know that, we can turn around tomorrow and hear that the dc Mk6 is announced, but I guess it depends on what you would kick yourself more for - passing on the reissue and having to wait years to get the dc (if it really does come out at all), or picking up the plastic one and having to sell it for a loss shortly after buying it because the dc came out?
seeing what HT did with MK6 DC, MK4 DC, if out, will stay close to IM2 movie? so what would it be?
donut scene-already done with v1
gantry scene-already done with v2 gantry set
airplane drop scene?
stark mansion post party wrestle scene?
maybe we will not get a MK4 DC afterall

I don't know if a plastic reissue would entice me even though I missed it, this might be a figure which could really benefit from a diecast treatment. I don't have the figure, but from the pictures I have seen it looks really plastic to me and like it doesn't have as much detail as it should compared to what they were able to do with the diecast Mark 42 or 43.
Diecast can't hold the level of detail plastic can. Diecast was perfected long time ago. It's a much less advanced process and material. (Old tin toys and old tonka and matchbox and hot wheeels are diecast for example. The first mass produced toys where diecast in the 1900s.
As for the way it looks...or looking plastic or whatnot...you can not visually tell what part is diecast and what part is plastic on a figure...and even the "diecast" figures are 50-70% plastic (or at least not diecast). The reason the 42 looks updated is because the company got better, not because it's diecast. They could make that exact figure out of plastic and if you stood them side by side you could not tell them apart just visuallly. If you like or prefer the "heft" that's cool. But the way a figure looks has zero to do with plastic or diecast. Plastic can do everything (minus the weight) the diecast can do. However the diecast can not do (or be as detailed) everything the plastic can. The mk43 is more advanced (a few more articulated parts) then the 42..and those new parts are plastic. The mk45 1/4 has the best joints, articulation and engineering hot toys has done, and it's all plastic. And it's more advanced then the 1/6 45 that's diecastZ
As always the only difference, only, between the two is heft. How much that matters is up to your preference. But it has nothing to do with looks or articulation
Agreed, the main reason for going die-cast would be the heft, feel, durability, etc. but not looks. Heck, if anything, paint actually chips off more easily on a lot of old die-cast toys.
