I don't think I'm alone when I say Chris's work speaks for itself. I don't need to see the final piece before dolling out the cash. I'm confident in his ability.

Blue back pack is agreat idea. I've got jeans, shirt, jacket leather runners, stethascope & chart ready to go

Chris, seriously. I think people hear have a great appreciation for talent. I'd love to know the % of people on the forum that customize. I'd bet it's pretty high. It get's a little tired when all the major 1/6 makers keep pumping out Star Wars & Indy stuff. Not that I dislike the properties, but I think a lot of people would like something else. You & a few other artists provide this opportunity. When we all show appreciation, we mean it.

Cheers
Joey

Well, I truly appreciate the appreciation.....

Lord knows Star Wars has paid for a large portion of my mortgage over the years. But I'm really thankful for the opportunity to sculpt all these fun projects that I would never usually get the chance to do. And you guys are WAY better to work with than the suits at some of the companies I've worked for. I won't get into that now, I've ranted elsewhere about it before.

Long story short: You guys give a damn and actually recognize quality when you see it. I couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of freaks! And I get a real kick out of seeing all the creative ways my sculpts get used.

But I must admit, I do get vaguely embarrassed when complimented. Must be my Midwestern upbringing. :D

Steven Fry has a very unusual facial type. Long and "forward".
His facial features are rather flat and pushed towards the front of his face. Good luck! let us see it when you come up with something you like. :)

hey, hope you don't mind me posting my W.I.P Stephen Fry pics here, I always feel bad posting my own progress pics in some one else's thread just as a form of update, hope its ok lol

anyway, this is my Stephen Fry sculpt, as you can see still a way to go, but I feel I've made progress

unbelievably fiddly work trying to get his nose the right kind of "bent" shape without seeming either cartoony or insulting lol

hope you like :S

Chris, I hear ya. It's difficult to accept compliments when you feel you are just doing what you do. It does feel a little embarrassing, but also feels a little good. I know sometimes I almost feel guilty when I receive a complement. Sometimes its hard to accept or believe its true. However, it seems this community are pretty damn honest & supportive. Wish my friends were like the people on the forums here.

Ooops, Tom, that looks GREAT. Humbling to see all the great artists on the forums here. Keep it up. I know how hard it is to sculpt, I've tried with little success.

thanks, I have a profile pic right now that I just took, as I forgot instantly about it as I took those pics lastnight lol
this sculpt is in many ways a transient peice, this was my style of sculpt for a while, then it changed as I worked on another sculpt which I started after I put this one aside for a while, so most of the detail on this (i.e. ears and mouth) will probably change into my newer, better style i think

Okay, House-philes, remember that itty bitty Rx bottle on eBay? The vendor finally got them in, though apparently it just doesn't pay to sell such inexpensive items on eBay. They have to be ordered from the vendor's own site, which is at https://www.dejouxminiatures.com. Enter FR21141 in the search field. They're $2.50.

This is a Hot Toys TrueType hand:

Seems about the right size to me....

Thanks for the heads up! Ordered! :rock

Still looks a bit small to me, but there are various sizes of pill containers and I know there are some this size although I've always thought his were a bit bigger. But hey. We are talking maybe 1/4" too small. It is definately close enough to work! Great find once again!

Pill bottle looks pretty good to me, maybe small, but will work just fine.
