Even stuff like Silverhawks, Bravestar, M.A.S.K., The Disney afternoon Ducktales....it's all better than the stuff nowadays. We were lucky guys. VERY lucky.

I think that's why a lot of us here have such vivid imaginations and collect statues: cartoons back then really enhanced our childhoods more than we realize. :chew

In regards to movies, we had something that kids nowadays will never have: a sense of wonder as the birth of cool special effects was in it's prime.

Everything nowadays is CGI and it's taken for granted. Kids are used to it with video games and such. They rarely go "that's AWESOME!!!!!!!" as we were excited back then. They usually go "ah, I've seen better...it looks fake". We were raving about Roger Rabbit effects and stuff like Krull and Willow. Things were just more fun back then.

Somewhere around Jurassic Park the special effects peaked and the sense of wonder has died down. It takes a lot to impress people, not to mention kids, nowadays.

For late evening/night television shows we still had the Knight Rider, V, Dukes of Hazard, the A-Team, Air Wolf, Tales From the Crypt, Quantum Leap (okay so these shows debuted in 1989 and went into the 90's), Married With Children (well it did start in 86!), WAIT... FORGOT ABOUT IT ALMOST! THE WONDER YEARS!!!

Man, I loved those plush characters that would change colour if you got them wet. Very popular in the 80's. Miss those.
