I always pay attention to your posts. You're a smart guy and a good person with a horrible political perspective, which happens to also be the default setting of most smart, good people. I work very hard figuring out how to change your mind.

More anti human rubbish from the so called educated sect. Humans are bad, we are bad, you exhale carbon therefore you are bad and causing global wArming....pffft.... Surely if we evolved for punching we'd have these big solid bones instead.... I like the bewb theory better

Interesting that you inferred a value-judgement from that paper. As for it being 'rubbish from the so-called educated sect', you can always debunk the findings by writing and publishing your own paper in a peer-reviewed journal :)

Don't google your eyes at me. It stands to reason that if he doesn't trust them, playing their game isn't going to solve the problem.

:lol

It stands to reason that if he doesn't trust them, playing their game isn't going to solve the problem.

The only problem here is skepticism born from ignorance as to how peer-reviewed research works. A researcher, or group of researchers, has used empirical methods to reach a conclusion that is scrutinised by professional peers and experts in the field before being published in the public domain for further scrutiny.

On the other hand, some guy on the internet reckons it 'doesn't sound right'.

A Nobel prize winning economist just suggested that the minting of a trillion dollar platinum coin could solve the American fiscal crisis.

I can't blame some guy on the internet one bit for having no faith in their consensus.

In the end it's just a bunch of fallible human beings giving a thumbs up or a thumbs down. History is full of renegades who stuck to their guns after failing to be accepted by the majority and later turned out to be correct and acknowledged. The status that comes with being at the top of your profession is hard to let go of when it comes down to it. Ridicule and poverty are powerful motivators.

It's really no big deal one way or another unless there are serious moral implications in the findings. Otherwise... coffee talk.

In a world where millions starve, poverty is rife, locally police, nurses & government workers are being put off work, society still seems to find the funds to pay scientific snobs to study why people have hands....... Millions well spent ehhh.... The only peers this mob care about is their government friends who write the cheques.....

Millions well spent ehhh....

this information is more beneficial if written/vandalized in the men's toilet.

like this afternoon, i went to peepee and i read this passage above my urinal:

"the future is in your hands"

if i had a marker with me i'd write:

"Human Hands Evolved for Punching" on the next urinal.

I agree. We should get government out of healthcare, energy, reproduction, sports and all other forms of social engineering. People should be free to spend their own money on concerns that interest them without interference from those who think it would be better spent elsewhere. Society is not an amalgam of interchangable cells, to be operated by an elected (or otherwise) representative of their homogenized interests. Society is an aggregate of autonomous, self-sustaining individuals that cannot function on a human level without guarantee of the personal sovereignty required to think for themselves, act on their conclusions, and own the consequences.
