So to save time I'm leaning more towards bitter :survivor

So I cancel my classic spidey & I'm bitter, yet shai cancels his negative spidey & no questions are asked

all this just because my opinion differs from yours
Uhhh.. No...

You come into the Spidey variant threads and make specious claims about Sideshow's motives for producing them, and pronounce that anyone who buys one is a sucker. Shai simply says it isn't for him, and hopes someone else in the forum will be able to get the one he cancelled.

See the difference?

pitchin said:
So that makes me bitter or just opinionated?
Both, actually.

did you read the thread about my cancellation?

After a long hard think about this, I decided to cancel my order for this piece as I really don't wanna start going down the variant route in my collection & I was honest with myself that I don't really like the sculpt no matter how rare it is.
I could have flipped it but it's more hassle than I can be bothered with.
I hope someone like Gru or nash who got on the waitlist early gets my order. I would have offered it to you guys but I live in UK and the cost of shipping it back across the Atlantic would be very expensive.

yeah I sound bitter eh?

But if that's the way you saw it, why did you order it in the first place?

that was my reasoning & then an additional exclusive on top of that was announced, which I thought was just trying to offload old sculpts, what other ss item has a regular, exclusive & 2 variants of the exclusive?

Wait there will be more Spideys variants in the weeks to come...:lol :lol :lol

Pitchin...what is so hard to grasp about the Spiderman variants. Spiderman is a very popular character that has had numerous costumes throughout it's characters history. You also have Spiderman 3 coming out in 6 months and Sideshow may have been trying to do something special for the fans because the excitement has been building.

So you don't like variants...we get that...but many here do.

That's your reason for cancelling, but what was your reason for ordering?

And that is where you started to go wrong. Why would Sideshow pull items out of inventory, ship them back to China, have them repainted, remove old fabric elements and replace them with new ones? That would cost them more than the statues are worth at this point.

The obvious answer is that Sideshow had a few more of the pieces produced with different paint jobs and fabric (and, in one case, a different base. Was it an attempt to revitalize a slow-moving line? Of course. Was it as shady or sinister as you seem to believe? Of course not!

yeah the bowen crowd

that's just naive

I hope this isn't the bowenisation of sideshow :lol

I believed the hype :lol

also.......to even get a chance of getting something with an ES that low.........you order first then look at what you ordered second :lol

Maybe a better route for sideshow would be to post preview pics of the item a few days before ordering so people can decide if they want it or not

When did I say it was "shady or sinister"?
I was merely pointing out the fact that if the spidey sculpt sold well then (IMO) these variants would never have surfaced

I agree. The conspiracy theory it's certainly there and lends itself for us to speculate... :monkey3

I think it could have been that or Sideshow realizing that next year is going to be huge for Spidey. They looked at their product lineup and saw the Spidey PF sitting there for months without selling out the exclusive. Some marketing moves were made and the 2 variants were created to generate some buzz on a "dead before arrival" piece. If they used regulars to create them is open to speculation.

Or...

Another reason was probably Marvel looking after it's license. They see their flagship character doing poorly on a highend line of collectibles. They demand action to save this release. May be some of the feedback here helped regarding the color blue of the fabric. A limited run was made to create some buzz and expose people to the actual sculpt in person. Once people see it in person they may recommend to others to give it a shot even if they were unable to score either of the variants.

I would have loved to have a Ben Reilly Spider-Man variant. It would have given people that missed out on the classic a second shot to something that looks like Spidey. A darker blue and the visible webshooters would have been interesting. I think that would have been better than the forced Negative Zone version.

if pitchin wants to question sideshows motives then that is his right
and 2 super exclusives is unheard of before.has to make people wonder why?
we should all be friend here, can we not just accept a different opinion
to our own without getting pissed about it.life is to short!!!

on another note-i missed both variant.all i want was one.
i got nothing and quight a few people got both of them?how come
i spend a crap load of money with sideshow and marvel is my favourite line
yet no ppo for newsletter members, there was a ppo for grey hulk pf.
yet not for a limited edition of 75.

i dont think pitchin is bitter..but i sure am.im very dissapointed and thats putting it politely.:emperor

Doctor...Yeah Pitchin can question their motives and people here can question his. So what if 2 variants are released...you guys act like a conspiracy is going on. Maybe...just maybe....Sideshow wanted to release a couple cool Spiderman variants for people interested.

I got the Classic but missed the Negative...you here me *****ing? No,
you don't because that's the way things go...you win some, lose some. If you did do a priority pre-order the lines would have been even more congested.

Another thing....it's not Sideshows fault your on dial up, or your computers slow, or you slept late, blah, blah, blah. If getting an ultra exclusive products is a problem because of your technical or personal situation make the adjustment on your end!

10 minutes i was plugging away and no product.competing with the world and his brother.it was a complete ****.worst ordering experience to date.
