...from playing with my friend's Wii all weekend...wow, that sounds really dirty :lol

Seriously though, I'm totally addicted. And I can 100% see how some people are cracking their TVs and throwing the remotes through walls and ceilings, or nearly cutting their hands off in ceiling fans. Even though you *can* just sit on a chair and move your remote hand around, it's almost impossible not to get totally into it. And doubles tennis is really really (really) difficult. The greatest thing about the Wii, to me, is that it's 10 times more fun when you have a group of people playing. It's made gaming a group activity again, like back in the day when all the neighborhood kids would come over to watch you save the princess because you were the first on your block to get that far :chew

I also foresee a lot of gamers losing some weight this holiday season! The boxing game is a GREAT workout! I can think of so many awesome uses for this gaming system - I'd love to see one where you could, like, direct an orchestra, or diffuse a bomb, or something. So far we've had no problems with the wrist strap, but I did smack my tennis partner a good one in the arm, and he's got the bruise to prove it. I'm going to have to try it lefty next, as I don't want my right arm to get all muscle-y while my left one stays weak and jello-y :rotfl

That first comment you made was pretty funny. :lol

I have not yet had the chance to play a Wii, but I definetly would like to. I have played every console but the Wii. I have seen lots of commercials on it lately and it looks like a blast. Instead of sitting down, with a controller in both your hands, you get the two handles (I think they are called that?), and stand up and throw your arms and hands around as you control your character. It's brilliant in my book. The price is really good on them considering the prices on the 360 and PS3.

I am sure that if I was playing a Wii with a group of friends that I would be hitting them as well. :rotfl Anyways, I am glad that you had lots of fun playing it. I can't wait untill I get the chance to play one. :D

i think i'm going to have to resort to ebay for one.....your post has pushed me over the edge Dusty.

You will NOT regret it. Hey, unlike other video games, it's even good for your social life...I'm even considering letting one into my house - an unthinkable notion for me a couple of weeks ago (I get way too addicted to games, but I think this one may be *worth* getting addicted to).

I've got a 360 but I'm trying to talk my Dad into getting a Wii. That way I can play either.

P.S. For those of you who have one/have played... what other games are good besides the sports ones? I heard the Zelda one kinda sucked?

For some reason, I never figured you for a games player Dusty... :monkey5

from what everyone has written, it sounds like it is well worth it. i know what you mean about getting addicted to games, i'll have to find some time in between the Xbox 360 games I'm playing to play the wii.....i guess i could cut that horrid thing called "work" out....well no, i can't do that because I'll need to pay the power bill so the games will work.

In regards to getting hit while playing the Wii, that wouldn't be a problem for me. My brother used to punch me in the arm everytime I beat him at a game, which was pretty frequently, so for me it would be a typical gaming experience.:rotfl

Who said Zelda Sucks!?!?!?!? No way, well ok hold on. If yo don't like Zelda gmes in general, maybe than you won't like it. Otherwise it is maybe THE BEST GAME in the last 10 years! I hate RPG's and I'm sssoooooo hooked on it (not that zeldas reaaallllyyy an rpg, it's more action) but no chance is it bad.

Also, I have Monkey Ball and that's, so far, pretty good. The only problem with Monkey Ball is tht some of the mini-games have on-and-off controls, but the main game is awesome! I say anything chock full of mini games is worth it.

Also, forecast channel is up, you can check the weather anywhere on EARTH!

Did you win?

We had a singles tennis tournament with 10 people and I came in second. I also came in second in bowling. The secret to bowling strikes seems to be to roll it as hard as you possibly can - no wonder people are breaking their TV screens :lol

Oh, and as for the Zelda thing, I've never really played the original Zelda, so I don't really know how I would like it, personally. I was just repeating what my game-designer friend told me. He's kind of a cynic when it comes to games though, since he does it for a living - whereas I pretty much like everything (except I don't play them at all anymore - I'm not really a 'gamer' Lonnie, but I think I have the genetics to be, that's why I avoid them - like alcoholic genes, gaming genes are dangerous :lol). I wish they had a dance dance revolution type game for the Wii, that would make me buy it for sure (although my downstairs neighbor would REALLY hate me then!)

I don't know your friend at all, but from that post, he's an idiot :monkey3

The new Zelda game is quickly becoming my favorite game of all time. The story is great, plenty of side quests, and the temples are the best of any Zelda game. Not to mention how fun it is with the Wii controllers.

Red Steel on the other hand is a pass. I got about 60% through and couldn't take it anymore. It's a great concept for a game, but it feels very rushed. There are a lot of great things about it, but too many bugs and it seems unpolished.

Super Monkey Ball is another great multiplayer game. 50 mini-games and most of them are a blast. I've never had so much fun playing red light/green light.

And Wii Sports is just so much fun. I try to play every day. But it's definately more fun with other people. And I would own you in tennis :maul

I have definitely gotten excited about games again since getting the we. Took me a long time to quit playing bowling to even try any of the other games.

Loving Zelda right now and just picked up Rayman too. It's just freakin hilarious. Picked up Ultimate Alliance also, but haven't even broken the seal on it yet.

Nice, I'll be sure to pass that on to him.

(He designed the original Medal of Honor for EA, then Activision commissioned his production company to create something to compete with it, so they came up with the original Call of Duty... yeah, you're right, he's an idiot ;) Probably he's just more into first person shooters, although he really loves World of Warcraft. Who knows, but it's his Wii, so if I want to play Zelda, I'm gonna have to find somewhere else to do it :lol)

It was a joke. Sheesh, I forgot we're not allowed to do that around here.

I bought some games already from Best Buy (to take advantage of double rewards points before x-mas), now I just need to find a system :monkey1

That's the trick isn't it? I'm amazed at the demand for this system. They've had to have sold close to 2 million of these by now and they still sell out in minutes.
