Disagree. Firstly, the assumption that Democrats are for decriminalization is false. Also, the Democrat would need to get votes from the other side to win, and admitting drug usage would NOT benefit the candidate in this sense. Honesty does not help him or her. Look at what Bill Clinton had to say..."I didn't inhale." I mean, come on. Obama is just being honest I think, plus he wrote about it in his book already. In any case, it is hard for me to believe that Obama is saying what people want to hear, simply because I don't think people want to hear a candidate for the President of the USA did drugs.

For the record, I have never done any drugs whatsoever.

That's bad for your lungs but other than that the LD is so far from the ED you will never overdose or become addicted. Of course I have taken medications and have had a beer or two in my day, but I obviously was referring to the "bad" drugs you mentioned. For the record, society dictates what is acceptable and not. Whether fair or not, I have never done any drugs that society would deem wrong. I think that experimentation is important for some, as in Obama's case. I have no problem with people who choose to experiment, just as they should have no problem with my choice of being "drug free." I respect Obama so much for being honest. I am being honest by saying it was just never my cup of tea. That simple. To say those who have not done drugs "need to live it up" is not accurate, however, because some choose to make different choices. It is not as black and white as some would make it seem. That said, the whole "war on drugs" thing is a joke and anyone who thinks that putting additional legal restrictions on certain drugs will help the problem is just wrong. It will only lead to further illegal dealings.

In my family you would be wrong. It has negatively affected 2 members of my family, kind of a jumping off point to the harder drugs. Lets just say one is dead now, and one pretty much ruined his life because of smoking pot.

Uh, marijuana is very addictive. It also contains aprox 70% more cancer causing chemicals than tobacco...hmmm...sounds bad to me...unless you enjoy cancer. 4 times the amount of tar than tobacco per joint. I would go on but you get the idea. Deny it all you want, it is bad for your health....

Exactly...I've seen this exact thing hundreds of times...some drugs may not seem as bad but are gateway drugs into the harder drugs..Sorry too about your loss bro...
