My Cable Triple Play was coming in at over $200. I gave my cable provider a call and asked if there was anything they could do to lower it.

Sometimes all you have to do is ask and thats all I did, no arguing, whining or pleading. They said that there were some promotions I could take advantage of, I heard some clicking of a keyboard over my phone and they managed to bring my bill down to under $170 with no downgrades, same exact service.

Give it a try, and save yourself some $$$!

I switched to Vonage! :lecture:lecture:lecture

I was a longterm Progressive Insurance Customer, had to call around when I bought a new F250 Ford and full coverage was going to run a lot more. Geico was the winner, saved about $500/year. My Direct Tv is bundled with phone and internet, though I am going to try using the majic jack plus for a home phone. I only use a cell phone while away so I have a prepaid for $50 unlimited for 30 days. I have beaten my monthly bills down from $1600 to $750/mnth, paying off the homestead and should go down to $400/mnth once the truck gets paid off next year. (for those interested in the formula, keep paying off the bills FIRST and get your debt to zero. Don't wait for the due dates, pay everything you can afford and leave yourself with just enough to get by everytime you get paid)

Yeah, I do this every year with Qwest / Century Link. I'm usually terrible at stuff like that, too. But after my promo period was going to end, the price was going to literally triple. So when the promo was about to end, I just said I couldn't afford the increase, and could the promo be extended.

I have to give them a call in a month, and that'll make the third time it's extended.

Excellent cokebabies!

As they say everything is negotiable and if more consumers took some power back from the corporations, like you did, this country would be a lot better off!

Most people have been laughing this thread off like the poster above, but no one is taking any action to try to reduce their bills when all it really takes is a phone call and one question:

"How can you help me reduce my bill?"

$170-$200 a month for cable, :thud: ____ that, i just piggy back off the neighbours satelite package for $5 a month and DL all the movies I need. What a facking rip off.:lecture
