Actually, you can just crack open that box outside your house and connect the cable yourself for free. I wonder why more people never try this. Do you think the cable company is gonna drive around the city and inspect everybody's cable line to see if it has been tampered with??

Of course, just because you can save money by doing something like that doesn't mean you should. If you're using their service, then you should pay for it IMO. If you don't like their prices and policies, then you should go elsewhere or go without.

My neighbor did this to my satellite receiver. I made a very public spectacle of cutting the cable down with a machete and tossed it on the hood of his car. He doesn't do it anymore. :lecture:lecture:lecture

If you have the little locks that are on the boxes, it's even better!
