Another Ryu?!
Come on third parties.. make something new! Blanka.. Dhalsim.. Ibuki.. Honda!

What’s crazy is someone over at Nodtoys thought this Ryu is a ‘good’ alternative for those that missed out on iconiq’s SF5 Ryu.

that person looked at that sculpt and thought “yup. Thats the one. Now put it up for PO!”

It could be not bad if the HS were better.
I still haven't found the Ultimate Ryu, the Iconiq is based on SFV which is one of the worst looking ryu (after the 4).
It's too Fat, misshapen, with huge hands and feets, it look like an orc, in short it's ugly.

I'm still waiting for a real Ryu, the one from SF2 or why not an Alpha/Capcom VS SNK/SF3 version etc... in those games Ryu was still normal and not deformed like in 4 which was the beginning of the ugliness

either that, or Nodtoys is actually giving more slap to those who missed the iconiq Ryu.
"You missed that awesome Ryu?? hahahaha! Now take this.. we are pouring more salt to your wound!"

I know where you're coming from, but there's so much variation and most of it is the jacked/roided style, even as far back as art in SFII Turbo. I would love a an Akiman (not roided look) or Kinu Nishimura line though (It's not like they haven't made static figures from her designs in the past!)

But V is awesome, especially the higher res character portraits. I will reject most (not all...) slander on it.

I truly despise how giant the hands and feet are. I get the idea, it makes the actual game more legible in motion. Other games like Tekken or DBZF also have absurdly huge hands and feet. But it is ugly and I hate it every time. This is very much a place where I want less game accuracy in a figure. It's a gameplay convention, not a character design choice

Agreed 100%. One of the things with designs from SFA and SF4/5 is they make characters like Ryu, Ken look bloated and stumpy. To exacerbate the ‘stumpy’ feeling, they nerf Ryu’s crouching forward/medium kick where you have to literally be IN the opponent for the move to hit…

That being said…it’s still nice to own a 1/6 Ryu. And you at least have to hand it to Iconiq, they nailed the orc-y design.

In both my Ryu review and “top 10 most wanted figures of fighting game characters” video, id mentioned that I’d love a SF3 and or CvS2 (kinu nishimura’s GODLIKE DESIGNS) Ryu figure. The big hands and feet are still within reason.

Other games like Tekken or DBZF also have absurdly huge hands and feet. But it is ugly and I hate it every time. This is very much a place where I want less game accuracy in a figure. It's a gameplay convention, not a character design choice

They are big, but not on the level of any character from SF5 lol. IMO the size of their hands and feet make the overall aesthetic/silhouette look cool and dangerous.

Like..wtf is this??

Bro can’t even pick his nose.

This is way more reasonable.

Fixed the broken hair piece and it's no longer noticeable after glueing it back on. This Cammy figure has really geown on me.

There things about the Play Toys figures that I'm liking better than the Starman figures the more I mess with them both. The PT body can hold positions much better than the SM. The paint apps on the body of the PT Cammy are fantastic. The sculpted hair and paint apps on the headsculpt are much better to me on the PT as well.

The feet are the most annoying thing by far on this figure, that for the life of me, I can't understand why they would make that mistake twice. I also don't really care for the sculpted plastic hat.
