If Sideshow ends the line, could Hot Toys pick it up?

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

Meh, just get the Takara Indy 1/6.

I'm game! Let's go dig up the only thing produced, the prototype!

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

I would like to see this "Hot Toy collaberation" end up with the making of the German Mechanic played by Pat Roach That Indy fights at the flying wing in ROTLA. He has always been my own favorite Indy villain.

no doubt... that would be a fun figure to own...

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

If they stick with the "bursts" they mention, they could do Pat in a Temple of Doom wave on a muscle body as the Chief Thuggee guard, along with Indy and Mola Ram. And Shortround on the hobbit body, reworked.

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

I'd buy that dude in a second! That scene is badasss!

A DX Pat Roach with change out sculpts/clothing for Big Sherpa/German Mechanic/Giant Thugee and exclusive version with Last Crusade Gestapo. :lecture

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

The only "collaboration" I'd be interested in seeing between SS and HT on Indy would be the passing of all responsibilities (maybe with the exception of sculpting) from SS to HT. I couldn't care less about getting a HT muscle body on a figure if the head sculpt still has SS's paint aps on it.

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

Yeah Sideshow seriously needs to improve their factory paints. Hot Toys and many of these smaller 1/6 companies are just putting out phenomenal paint with realistic fleshtones compared to them. The generic cartoon factory paints may have been acceptable like 8 years ago but doesn't cut it in today's market when prices are creeping upwards of $125. The fact that they haven't completely abandoned the dreaded "doll dot" is embarrassing. :monkey4

See this is what pisses me off about them using Small Studios for proto paints.

Does any other company do anything like that? Hand paint protos when theyre production samples will be machine painted? I know Hot Toys doesn't and I don't think Bowen does do they? It just seems as I said, to be grossly misreprenting. Not to mention they can't show actual production samples until after they ship to customers because "they don't even have them." Wow.

He's one of the most talented painters going, Its like saying heres how our piece could look if we actually tryed harder. They really should add a disclaimer to anything hand painted.

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

That's what I was taking about - SS giving their licence to HT for maybe one figure, as part of their 10 year anniversary, like a one-off DX, sculpted by Yulli, painted by JC Hong, released by Hot Toys.

I agree with this 110%. A HT Indiana Jones is 1 of the 3 Grails for me. (The other two being a DX Jack Sparrow and a Battle Damaged T-800 T2)

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

Sorry to bump this without news - but I have a feeling that HT are gonna make a one-off figure of Indy this year, and Sideshow helped them to do it. Either them or thanks to the new Medicom/Enterbay partnership it is possible now. Hopefully in the next few weeks we might hear something. I'm gonna ask Greg at Sideshow's chat next Friday if it's possible. At least then we might know.

:lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol And asking Greg will result in, "That's a possibility we may look into." Which has already been stated numerous times in several Q&As. :lol

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

This will never happen and if does I doubt the first Sideshow would want to do is another Indy. Unless it was a ToD Indy.

Still....never gonna happen. No one cares about Indy anymore and it is said.

I think Indy's the next LOTR 12" line where hopeless fans will keep asking and asking only to get :survivor

Re: A SS/HT collaboration on Indy possible?

I don't see it happening. The only chance of a collaboration would be that Sideshow uses the Wolverine body for a TOD Indy.

Or IF Hot Toys does do an Indy, it'll probably be a long time from now, once Sideshow's deal with the Indy products expires.
