My Ikea detolf makes popping noises from time to time. Sounds like the glass is cracking, but it's not anywhere on it. I think it's adjusting to room temps etc. Anyone else ever hear theirs pop?

Mine does that all the time! At least a few times each day. And its really loud! I always think a figure is falling.

Never heard that sound , i own 3 Detolfs , it could be if you walk by it and the floor boards move , it might make that sound or it could be that the plastic corner pieces that hold the panels in place might not be pushed in far enough , by that not being done the unit is outta square :dunno

hope that helps

Thanks guys. Good to know.

Ecko, I checked the plastic, seems to be in pretty good. I guess these just pop in some climates. We've not been running the air, so the house varies in temp slowly all day.

Mine do that, too. I always turn to look cuz it sounds just like a figure crashed.

It's funny to learn that everyone else's do that too. I figured I just put mine together wrong. haha.

Mine does that daily. Bugged the crap out of me for a long time when I couldn't tell where it was coming from cause it's loud. I think it's a temperature thing also.

What an odd thread name.

Glad its not just me who hears this. I thought it may have been my shoddy building but no turns out its common.

lol, funny how I was thinking the same thing about my detolf. My wife ran to me wondering if a figure was falling or if there was some sorta spirit in the house. I just like to think that Wolverine and the Joker don't like to hang out on the same shelf.

There is already a thread about this made by Uscmhicks. Completely normal.

You're kidding. I didn't bother to look thinking there's no way anyone would have brought it up before. Nothing new under this board...

loosen all 4 screws on the top by about a half to a full turn. this sould help, and it's not like the Detolf will fall to pieces if the screws aren't tight.

Its sold in IKEA, not the best quality stuff out there, and yes mine does it too which is annoying since its in my bedroom popping when I am sleeping.
