Also, this one, the turbo stays slightly lit all the time, whether turbo is on or not. I have the feeling it is gonna crap out on me soon.

Mine has a similar problem, basically once I turn Turbo on I cannot turn it off. The only way to turn it off is to un-plug the controller. But I never use Turbo anyways, so no biggy for me. So far the controller has held up and I don't expect anything to happen, it's a solid controller.

I really wish I preordered a TE stick... I'm using a standard PS3 controller, and my thumb is raw >_<

Yes, I will get my HRAP3 tomorrow :rock. It's not the TE, but it will do for now until I get my hands on one.

Congrats, nash!

Gizmodo has a review of the Mad Catz SFIV Fightpad if anyone hasn't bought one yet. Includes some nice photos.

Whoo Madcatz sent me a tracking email from fedex. The stick should get back to me on Thursday. Pretty fast considering I sent the stick back on Friday.

I'm just hoping everything will work fine once it gets back to me hehe.

she looks good on the actual controller though. :)

Anyone want a Chun Li fight pad? 360 version. Cost....under $50. Brand new, mint.

Yes please I need a 360 fight pad, and the Chun Li one will do. I'll settle for that no prob! Please let me know ASAP by PM I guess?

That was quick, BTW how much did it cost to ship it to them? I finally got a RMA number for my fightpad and it sucks that we have to pay for shipping. Knowing how heavy and big the TE is, I wonder how much you spent. Hope I don't get problems with my TE.

The fight pads look pretty good, but Im thinking of getting the fightstick still for $80. Anyone have any problems with those?

Yeah I wouldnt take the chance on the $80 SE, espeically when modding it will bump the price up to about the same as the TE. you'll end up with identical parts minus a badass housing.

I bought a Sanwa joystick for $25 and 6 OBSF30 buttons for $3 each to install into my Mad Catz SE stick. $80+25+18= 123

That's not that close to the $150 price of the TE, and even less when you consider the prices for the TE at the moment.

The TE stick's housing is nice, but I like the artwork on the SE more. But yeah if you can find the TE for $150, definitely grab it over the SE if you don't intend to mod.

Well factor in that there are 8 buttons and not just 6. That puts the total to around $130. $20 cheaper isnt worth having the SE housing imo.

Yeah, that's all very true. But most people would be fine with the stock buttons on the SE. The joystick is the real issue.

To answer Sniper33's question without sidetracking to the TE -- There is a high number of people who've been experiencing problems with the SE. Mad Catz claims that it's an isolated problem and only a small percentage of SE owners have complained about the issue, but generally the belief is that if one stick left the manufacturer in that condition, 99% of the succeeding sticks will also share that defect.

The second I grabbed my SE stick (don't make that obvious joke), I knew I was going to encounter the defect, so I ordered parts to mod it myself instead of sending it to Mad Catz for repair.

Bottom line is, if you intend to switch out the joystick, the SE is a fine accessory to have, and its price compared to the Hori stuff out there is pretty competitive (price of parts included). What can I say? I really like the turbo button.

Ive been playing with my HRAP3 today and I love it. Just waiting for lizardlick to send my seimitsu buttons. Thank God im done with the dual shock.

That's great, nash. I agree, the HRAP3 is awesome. I really want some seimitsu buttons after seeing some custom fightsticks using translucent pushbuttons:

I've also been wanting to try a HAPP octagonal-gate joystick instead of the square-gate Sanwa:
