Sorry, didn't mean to disrupt your hatefest. You could always pretend like I have a different opinion if it helps. I don't mind at all.

your welcome to like the film...but to say its better than the original by your standards/opinion, just seemed quite phoney to me...the original is a classic and did not need a remake especially as bad as this one is

:lol :lol :lol Riiiiiight.

They should continue to make sequels for the remake. Hear me out:

The Karate Kid 2: Kung Fu Kid. For all of you who keep harping on and on about how the remake should have been named. With the sequel, you get what you wished for. Sort of.

The Next Next Karate Kid. This one will replace Jayden Smith with Miley Cyrus and she would learn Tae Kwon Do from the Korean guy who played the Ninja in Ninja Assassin.

I took my kid to watch the new one and he said dad what the hell was this pile of crap you just made me sit through? you better take me home right now to watch the original film or i'm going to call child services on you for making me watch a rubbish film.

True story! :lecture

:lol @ the first Katate Kid not being a tween movie. :lol

Just because the word wasn't invented yet, right?

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

That it was crap can't you understand the post or something? :dunno

I could understand what you were trying to say, but couldn't understand how your dim-ass attempt at demonstrating its legitimacy was supposed to mean what you thought it did.

You mean like the same post as mine from some other guy just a few pages back saying the same thing but about the original.

I was like you guys when I first saw the trailer for The Karate Kid 2010. I turned to my son and said it's going to suck because all remakes do, and we sat down and watched the original the following weekend.

I quickly apologized for making him sit through that and promised him that I would take him to see the new movie for being such a sport. I'm glad I did. I wish all remakes could be like this one. It's not Oscar worthy but it was a good damn movie.

There is one scene in the new movie that made me glad I watched the original with my son though. It was word for word with the original but the lines where delivered in Chinese. I'm not going to spoil it but my son turned to me and uttered the English equivalent. What an awesome moment to share with my son.

Just because you like the new one you are looking to start ____ with people who dare to say anything bad about it with your dim-ass posts. :exactly:

Don't get upset at my opinion, princess. It's only an opinion! :lol :nana:

I think the original is extremely nostalgic but that doesn't make it great. Its melodramatic, Daniel is every bit as whiny as Anakin, and his fight scenes are clumsy and ineffective.

It serves well in portraying a code of honor, and tenacity.
The real irony is that if it were titled 'the kung fu kid' many of the same people would be knocking the new version as a blatant rip off of the karate kid.
I will be taking my kids to see it tomorrow but my opinion will probably be biased just because of my profession.

Daniel as Anakin...awesome. Lucas should have made the prequels 20 years ago and cast Macchio. :lol

"My kid did/didn't like it," isn't an argument for whether or not the movie sucks; just one stating personal preference, which is usually determined by reasons other than the value of the film (among which are things like irrational nostalgic fanaticism).

If you're not going to be original in your insults, atleast do it further away than immediately after the post you ripped off.

Why would I get upset? It's a tween movie whether your opinion concurs or not. Daniel had barely hit puberty. Could the guy even shave yet? The original was a stone's throw from Justin Bieber in a gi.

Oh i've got lot's of original insults for you but i'm not taking a ban for a troll like you so carry on. :clap

the new version stunk and the final blow at the end was one of the dumbest and most unrealistic blows I ever seen in a martial arts film.
the soundtrack was horrible and in no comparison to the inspirational music the original had.I am glad I didnt pay to see this garbage

No way. There will always be more STFU Eli's. :lecture

That's very clever, in a knuckledragging mimick sort of way. You know, I bet if you tried you could find an internet cliche that has been worn into the ground by several hundred-thousand other people to express each of your petty emo spasms.
