The sculpt looks good but I do see a couple of key areas that can improve it greatly.

I wouldn't usually bring up or compare another artist’s work but in the case of Rainman & Iminime, I think it's excusable because of their relationship with each other. IMO RM nailed the likeness a little better and you can even see it on his unpainted sculpt. I think what he did differently to hit the mark is all in the nose and eyes (I'm not going to post pics of Rainman's unpainted sculpt here but it could be seen on his site)

The eyes would benefit from being made a bit more squinted and the nose is almost there but could use a little adjustment. The bridge of the nose could be skinnier and the tip could be pointier. The shape of the nostrils from a straight on view is another aspect that could use attention.

Van Cleef's nose is by far one of the most unique in Hollywood's (and possibly the planet's ) history. I think attention to perfecting the nose is key in nailing the overall sculpt.

Yeah, i agree with Sam. Mike, I usually love your fastidious attention to the utmost detail. But this sculpt is 98% and Id hate to see that lost.

I think the eyes could work as is, but a little more of a squint would probably work better if they're going for that specific end sequence look. As for the nose, though, I think you nailed it, I didn't really notice, at first, but, upon inspecting it further, your analysis was spot on. They aren't huge issues, but, if this is a 90% likeness, I'd say that those minor changes could bring it up to about 95.

I don't think there's anything too difficult about Mike's suggestions, though. The inner nostrils would only need to be moved up about 5° more toward his nose.

I'm definitely with you boys. I'm just chiming in with my thoughts since Denny said that he wanted to hear feedback.

I know that in the past Iminime has made changes to sculpts that demoted it instead of improving it so I get the concern. I also think that those were done to sculpts that were in a much later stage (most of those were already shown painted) than this and it was beyond the point of being able to make significant tweaks based on Iminime's methods. I have confidence in the idea that whoever can sculpt this good is well capable of making changes for the better at this point.... but I still understand the concern

I can also see that, and, as I said, to tell you the truth, I didn't even notice until you said something. That being said, I still think that the nostrils wouldn't be too difficult, and would add a lot, though. Considering that the actual nostrils wouldn't even need to be shifted, just the angle of the holes.

Let me start by saying I have a hard time keeping the peanut butter within the borders of the bread. With that said, the only thing that might need to be changed is the nostrils as already noted. I would leave it though. There is 100% no doubt who that is when you look at it and it is absolutely an amazing sculpt. Bravo man.

I would be fine either way. Another thing to keep in mind is that this is the first time we're seeing the sculpt. There could still be some minor adjustments being made that we don't know about.

My only comment would be the area under the left eye. In the sculpt it has the line that divides it a little, whereas the area under his left eye in the photo shows it being more full without the separation. There also shows more wrinkles in the photo.

I do agree with Pops comment on the nose.

Ah, I got you. I think that you are referring to the eyes though. In some pictures his eyes are wider and in some they are more squinted, so it can be a matter of preference which one you want to choose.

But I was mainly referring to his nose which is a facial feature that doesn't change from picture to picture

You're the man, Denny! This thing knocked my socks off, and I can't begin to imagine what this'll feel like once that fully painted photo op comes along and this guy goes up for order (I'm sure it'll be a while, and, trust me, that's a good thing for this guy). I hope we get at least one shot of he and Blondie together, though.
