Well, it seems that, according to the latest newsletter, this guy should be shipping by late October; just in time for Clint to scare those ghosts and goblins away with the soul piercing stare.:lol

Do you mean his update e-mails? I've got one today, one on the 10th about a Fight Club point error, ones on the first and second about Spock, a Fight Club one on the 27th of last month, and a general shipping schedule update on the 18th of last month. At that point, he said this figure would ship early-mid October, now he's saying late October. I can only assume the next update will say it's coming in November.

Sam, you make it sound like he is unapologetically and unjustifiably postponing the shipment of the figures to suit his whims. He sent out a new newsletter today. It reads as follows:

Thank you for waiting long.

Town Sheriff & Crossbow hunter will be ready next Tuesday.
We will send emails with tracking numbers to customers who are expecting it.

We have few more stock, if anyone missed these and would like to obtain, please contact me
to [email protected] then I will let you know details.
These few stocks are not prepare yet, it will be prepared few weeks later.

We have a thanksgiving holidays from Wed - Sun next week, as you may noticed, our recent work quality
is getting higer and it takes a lot more time than we expect.
Therefore, we are sorry that there will be some delay for production.

Cowboy shipping schedule : Sometime in Oct(it seems to late Oct)
The Emotionless : Right after the Cowboy.

Thank you very much

Denny

Holidays. TWD delivery crunch. Exacting standards and rising quality. Justifiable delay if I've ever seen one.

I don't mind delays, they're not like the delays from hot toys (1 year) lol..

I'm not inferring any motivation whatsoever, simply a trend of delay after delay after delay. Whatever the reasons, they keep happening, and it isn't new. Seems only rational to expect more of what we've seen umpteen times in the past.

My real issue though is bigger than all that, and is with having collector's money tied up for even 4 months, much less 7 or 8 or whatever, because a company has to use that money to fund current projects. This is an argument I've made many times in the past and nothing has changed, but all it takes is one major crisis and then *poof* I've got selfish reasons for this, but it also concerns me as a moderator who has to consider the interests of the broad collector base here, when Iminime primarily uses this web forum as a means for product promotion and solicitation. If you read the FAQs here, Iminime and others are violating rules that were set up for very good reasons in the past in order to protect boardies. . .of course, there are good arguments for why a company like Iminime needs to act this way, but the bottom line is that the customers are taking on the risk.

:goodpost::exactly: wow...I didn't know that the forum had rules on the preorders but I feel the angst of dropping the funds for months without any interest! Lol

All figure manufacturers take pre-orders to some degree. There are some artists who's work requires even greater financial investment. The positive aspect is two fold however. The figures are fully paid for. No scurrying to come up with payment once the final figure is produced. And secondarily and ,to me, more importantly: the time affords Denny and his team ample opportunity to improve the figures. Which they usually do.

I appreciate the explanation....I try not to respond to many of the posts as I don't have the most knowledge with this procedure. I have purchased a lot of figures from sideshow, bbts, freaks, mom and pop stores, Rainman, and iminime this year alone and will continue. i do appreciate that denny requests feedback and actually improves the product but when it comes to preorders, it just seems that this has been the standard for iminime.

Yes. I appreciate that the rules are there... but a 30 day execution phase is really not enough. How many custom artists are capable of producing work in 30 days?

30 day execution after requesting final payment is what should happen. A non-refundable deposit paid at time of order is also understandable. Paying for anything in full 6 months prior to receiving it is unacceptable anywhere except in this hobby.

I won't name names but that would elimintae the eligibility 99.5% of custom artists on this board.

Maybe. But IDM Customs and Robbie have been able to do it lately by firstly taking a deposit then requesting final prior to shipment with 100% compliance. I have been fortunate to not be on the wrong side of a transaction, but I have heard of unfortunate things financially happening to artist and the collector is the one that gets hurt, while the artist dissapears without being heard from again.

Not that this would ever happen to Denny, just saying'.:peace

Only read this last page, but I gotta disagree with you qbomb71. As shown by the sold out figures, there will be tons of people ready to grab the figures with the payment plan that the artists prefer. They hold all the chips. :)
