So is there any advantage to us getting the figures early then?

Are you asking if the existing figures are somehow better than the forthcoming ones? My understanding is the only difference will be price and the shoes, as the newer ones will probably be sculpted (either using an existing pair or a new 3-D sculpt).

If they really wanted to preserve the specialness of the original figures, then the new figures should probably also have something else that sets them apart. A new sculpt isn't going to happen for this, but eyes looking to one side, and maybe give him a sunburnt/chapped lips look from after he was dragged around by Tuco in the desert would certainly set them apart, and would even make the newer figure more attractive to some.

The way Wake was describing this was that it was just throwing a bone to those who found out about this too late, presumably to help boost sales of the other two figures as much as anything else. He estimated the edition size would be 10 or less, also. Considering that, I doubt strongly they go the route of newly sculpted shoes.

Here is mine... only the head is from this project, poncho and vest were made by Bernard2002, pants are from the Jack Bauer figure, with BG boots.

Not as cool as the full set, but I couldn't buy it already having these parts... so went only for the sculpt.
