I never understood why people buy super expensive toys when they'll just have to sell them to pay bills. :google :rotfl Why buy it in the first place? Did you truly enjoy owning the figure for two weeks?

Gotta sell what I bought last night, the milk man needs paid. :lol Good luck with the sale, I'm sure it will go fast.

Yes, I did enjoy owning it.

But unexpected bills and my current budget means something has to go and so: last in, first out.

It's sold already anyway so pleased someone else will get to own/enjoy it.

Some people enjoy the thrill of buying the milk and looking at it and feeling the cold container in their hands... then in a few days sell it again... and usually at a profit.

I personally like to savor my milk.... ok... um.... this analogy just got weird.

:lol Wake, good stuff. I can totally understand that. It's just some people seem to buy and sell habitually, and always with the excuse of "needing the money". I honestly don't understand why those people are in this pricey of a hobby. But to each his own. :duff

Not to talk about any specific case, but if Wake is right, then there's your answer. Now you know.

Though I have to admit that I've never found anyone willing to buy my old milk :(

I personally don't want to judge anyone too harshly for selling stuff to pay for more stuff, or bills, or whatever though. Because who amongst us has never done that on some level? I'm guessing that guy who commissioned those Boardwalk Empire Rainman figures, and NO ONE ELSE EVER! So, y'know, just trying to put things in some perspective :lol

If someone buys a figure with their own money (however little they have) they have every right to do what they want to with it, whether to sell it to pay bills, sell because they don't like it anymore, or sell to make a profit to fund something else whether figure or bills. Anyway I don't see SnakeEater as a "flipper" so him wanting to sell his after 2weeks or however long is fine by me.

I also think there is definitely something to be said for not knowing what a product like is in-hand. Whether you're talking Rainman, Iminime, Hot Toys, or Sideshow, it seems there are inevitably changes from prototype to production. And even if the prototype looks good in pics, it might not have that same resonance once it is in-hand. Also, the way things go nowadays, you could be waiting 6 months, a year, or longer before something is delivered from some of these groups. Interests can definitely change in that time span. So I think there are lots of legitimate reasons for not holding onto something.

There's also that "milk bottle theory"® which I suspect is not too far off from the truth in some cases.

I'm like Wake, I find it really hard to get rid of any of my figures. I must of bought about 100 action figs in the last 5 years and maybe sold about 5 or 6.
I got loads just in boxes, that I've hardly even touched but something prevents me from getting rid of them. I guess I am a bit of a hoarder.

I think you are taking this way too personally man. You are free to do what you want with what you own.

Didn't you say you had to pay bills Snake? If so, I would assume that is your reason. But even if you did sell for some other reason, who cares? Once you buy, it is yours to do with as you please.

My stating that collectors either hoard or treat collectibles like some disposable razor is obviously a simplification of reality, and doesn't paint anyone in a particularly positive light :lol

If it's your money, I say do what you want with it. This is an expensive hobby and if you aren't totally into a purchase after owning it for even second and want to sell it, go for it. Just cause something is expensive doesn't mean you have to hang onto it. Some of these figures are as much rent, car payment, maybe even some mortgages. Isn't the saying "**** happens"?

On the flip side, if buying these figures is causing "**** to happpen" then maybe we should take a step back and re-evaluate priorities.
