The truth is out there and will be known some day. You see the three "gift" heads are not exact duplicates of the cast that was sent to Denny, put prior incarnations with subtly nuanced differences that can really only be discovered when held side-by-side to the DX head

I would find it hard to believe that someone would rent their DX sculpt for re-casting. Who in their right mind would want to take a chance that something went wrong. Either it was one of the three unpainted sculpts, Q bought a DX from another person, or he happen to find a way to purchase one himself. The time wasted on this fool is ridiculous. He got exactly what he wanted, he got everybody all riled up.

On another note as far as the DX goes. I am one of the few who really wanted the DX and had the infamous cart issues. I am finding it very disheartening that several have gone up for sale rather quickly after their purchase. And after the market seemed to be set based on Wake's piece, the bandwagon started filling up. I hate to think someone bought two or only one with the intention of flipping it quickly when others were left out.

Is the RM blondie hatless?

I don't think so. Velvet morning and FRONTLINE each made hatless sculpts

I can see why you would be disheartend and find that practice unethical, but why would you find it unexpected ?

You will notice many of the posts that a lot of guys are upset with "Q" because they feel his recasting of the exclusive sculpt has "devalued" the collectible they paid for. Well : Do you love the figure itself or just the "value" ?

I'd like to think people bought it, actually liked it but not enough and have prioritized other things in front of it so it ends up getting sold. My mentality is if I like it and I had the money for it at the time, I would buy it, there is no bad side to it since they appreciate almost instantly.

I think the surge of DX sales might be because of the trio, as well. Assuming a DX owner was able to snag the trio, they're basically trading a DX sculpt for two full figures, and then some.

It's more than just that for upstanding members. Sure people love the figure and the value but also have respect for the artists. It's people who only care about themselves that contribute and fund recasting. The boardies who respect the artists make sacrifices and don't fund recasting just because they want a sculpt that they missed out on in their collection; they will wait for the genuine article and sometimes have to pay secondary market prices for it

It appears there is a trio set available right now on Cinemascale for 1,500 USD. The ugly fig is 450 USD and AE is 500. I don't remember what the original Blondie cost. But it would seem to me you would only be trading out the new resin boots for an extra hatless headsculpt if you sent your DX packing and chose to wait 6 months for the trio. Not sure that would make sense---- Oh wait the current Cowboy DX is fetching twice the cost of the trio alone

Seems to me, if I were in this situation, I would wait to receive the trio before I sold the Blondie of my choice--- or at least keep the extra head-----or I'd make the extra 1,500 clams (essentially getting 3 free custom beauties)

btw, I don't know if something is wrong over at Cinemascale, but I just put 2 sets of the trio in my cart

Someone must have cancelled or something. But its listed as sold out again now. Did you pick up the 2 sets?

I noticed that it was still available last week and it was supposedly sold out weeks ago. Well, I guess the re-release has become open ended :ohbfrank:

You are correct that there were cancellations. Someone wisely swooped in and snatched them up.

Oh, and Mike, its NOT open ended. So please refrain from starting rumors that are not based in reality. Thanks.

Nice, not surprised they sold out again that soon. lucky guy whoever got them. thanks for reaffirming.

dya think the guys who cancelled were the guys who spent $ for the DXs on ebay ? kinda a vicious cycle.
So a guy can sell his set on ebay make enough to pay for six figs at cinamascale or what amounts to one freebie set, but you would'nt expect one of 36 or + 3 clean unpainted sculpts to "rent" their sculpt for $ 300 ?

That's where i stand on this. I wanted and still want the hatless DX sculpt as much as anybody, but I absolutely "will not" buy from a re-caster.

None of the big names will paint recast heads, so I don't see a point in buying a recast. Also, I cannot stand knowing it's a recast.

I have noticed a bit of that on these boards.
