Love it all! What a superb release!!!

Them boots are horrible though! Look like clogs! They desperately need changing

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

at this price, a little underwhellmed on the face paint job, and as said, boots need work

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

I'll update page one with photos as soon as I have a second.

I think the heels of the boots are really throwing them off. I'll be speaking with Denny about modifying the heels, and they will have metal cast spurs instead of the temporary ones shown, but beyond that they will not be changed.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

Ok I'll reverse myself a little (I have to start to reserve my comments until I get in front of my desktop instead of judging from the phone :lol)

The boots do look like clogs. Hopefully that's something that could be changed. The pants do look like they have an odd fit in a pic or two but that may be futzing; also it may not be.

As I mentioned, he looks a bit older than he should but I don't think that has much to do with Iminime's paint. It was mentioned that he looked like an older Clint by a few members when the sculpt was first revealed. I think that the extra age was always there but it's more apparent now that the sculpt is painted.

A few adjustments and this is a sick set!

I actually think having seen the pics the hatted version might be a bit better than the DX version

It does look like the problem is more than just the heel though

I think that except for the heel, they're better than Rainman's.

At the time the project got started, the boot options were: 1 - Generic cowboy boots from 'xyz' company (which isn't really an option at all), or 2 - SMcG customs creating the boots with real fabric, buckles and straps. A lot of work went into the boots, and while I do think the heel needs shortening, and they could use a little weathering, I stand by their quality. Hopefully buyers will see that quality in-hand.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

The paint job is fine. Clint here looks a bit older because of the sculpture of his cheeks, not so much the paint job. If you look at reference pics, you'll see that Clint's cheeks puff out, as opposed to the sunken ones in this sculpt. That's no big deal to me, though. The clogs, however, need to be changed completely. Modifying the heels isn't going to make them suddenly look like boots.

Boots are final fellas, 85 pairs produced and paid for.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

I think the boots would look better if the pants were a little looser. A little longer perhaps?

I understand the sentiment of folks using real leather and suede materials for footwear in 1/6 figures, but it rarely seems to work. Truth is, I don't think I've ever seen truly convincing boots or shoes in that scale when made of the real thing. IMO, high detail sculpted and well painted is the way to go.

Rainman does a combination of the 2 sculpts the sole and inner then puts a thin layer of material over the top. The pegs go directly into a well inside the boot. His Anton boots are real material and insane! Same with Plainview

My mind=blown. Thank you, Dane; thank you, Denny; you've made an Eastwood fan very happy.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

Here is a closer pic of the boots. I think if the heels are shortened it will decrease the angle of the arch and alleviate a lot of that "clog syndrome."

Also, it's obviously easier to nail the details of something in a sculpt vs. a piece using real fabric, but as I mentioned, custom sculpted shoes were not an option when we started this project.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

It's really a shame the unhatted sculpt is limited to the DX sets as that sculpt is hands down a better likeness of Eastwood, which is odd since it shares the same pedigree as the hatted sculpt.

If I can't get a DX tonight, I might pass on the entire piece.

OK -- I'm sold... need one!HAHAHAHA

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

It's a great figure for sure especially for the price, which is rather more affordable compare to those high-end customs out there. However, I'm not seeing the likeness in both painted sculpts to be honest. :(
