Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

You did a bang up job dude! I know that you poured your heart into this and it's not easy being the middle man coordinating with a bunch of folks via email. I love the set and it looks great. Any improvements are always welcome but nonetheless I'm all over it come tonight :yess:

BTW, who made the belt? I thought they were credited somewhere but I can't remember.

Also, when you speak of the tweak to the sole and heel of the boot, is this something that is going to be done by SMcG? If so can you update us with what the results of the fixes could be?

Thanks man, I truly hope that feelings are positive overall, and the current attitude towards the boots is just overshadowing that.

The gun rig is actually a combination of rigs from battlegeartoys. They were special ordered from the same dye batch in order to work together, and the holster was modified to sit higher up on the hip.

The tweak to the soles will need to be done by Denny rather than SMcG at this point. It will be time consuming, but I'm hoping he will go for it. Basically, I'm suggesting he sand down the heel, and heat/reshape the arch to compensate if necessary. If it can't be done on a production level, I'll certainly brave the waters with my own set so people can follow suit. I'll definitely let everyone know as soon as I hear back from Denny on it, either way. Any weathering on the boots will likely come down to the individual collector.

MarfMaster, it's great to see your enthusiasm... but don't take criticisms personally. Use them as free advice to improve your craft.

I was one of them criticizing the boots... still don't like them... but I love everything else enough to have already paid for it in full. I think most VIP members love iminime and what Denny has done, but we'd love for them to improve at their craft as well. We've already seen major headway in the production quality, but the only thing really holding them back is usually related to tailoring or other little bits of detail.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

I do kind of wish they were offering unpainted sculpts. Personally, I would still want a DX, but I would just love to see what others would bring to the table with such amazing sculpts. I know that Nathan has done some incredible work for you, Dane.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

is there any official word on whats left for tonight after the vip's have hade the first pic?

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

First off, let me say how happy I am to be getting this product. The figure looks great and it is clear that everyone involved really poured in their passion and devotion in an effort to get us the best product available.

I can understand Marf's trouble with this - he (and the others) obviously put a lot of work and effort into this and the only thing anybody is noticing is what the figure doesn't do well. Although I do believe that some people truly are just trying to give advice on how to better the figure, I also think that some people just hide behind that idea in order to justify their own cynicism. I am not saying that anyone here in particular is doing that, I just think that is indicative of the general hyper-criticism in the hobby.

I honestly think (and this is of course my own personal view) that everything here is at least on par with any Blondie release before it and with several things (head, vest, poncho) as much better than previous releases. I don't see the problems with the shirt and pants that others see (tight jeans like these are very difficult to accurately replicate in 1/6) and I believe that the head is leaps and bounds better than anything before it.

Also, as just an idea, is there any chance we can get Clint's eyes painted looking to the side? I always imagine him peering out to the corner of his eyes in this role. I know that the Bateman DX had a paint option with blood/no blood - just a thought.

Regarding the boots, to quote the immortal Ellis Redding "I mean, seriously, how often do you really look at a mans shoes?"

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

I disagree with you on several points DKA8976... but please oh please do not have his eyes looking to the side. That would ruin his poseability for many of us. Please make it a private option where you message them... and not as a standard feature.

And boots... a lot. You can tell a lot about a person by their shoes.

Thanks for chiming in DKA, and you nailed it. That is precisely why I was feeling down earlier. I'm glad you share my view of the quality of the set. Even the boots have a lot going for them, and I'm hoping that with some minor adjustments people will see that.

Regarding the eyes, I'm really not sure, but it never hurts to ask! Just shoot Denny an email requesting it for your own personal piece. :)

Wow, that looks great! Congrats to everyone that will get one, if I could afford, this would be a must buy.

Don't be down, Dane. You have a lot to be proud of with this release, and, just to put this in perspective, this is the first time I've ever wanted to own a Blondie. It's the first time I've actually seen Eastwood in the sculpt, and, well, I'm just happy to be here.:lol

My idea was more for an option and not the norm - I know that the majority of the collector base would want him looking dead ahead.

No one said your devotion to this project isn't appreciated. In fact, it is the inverse. We all thank you for your immense effort. However, criticisms are imperative to further improve the quality of anything. I understand that you were upset earlier due to the overwhelming amount of criticizing. That just goes to show that many of us genuinely care for the work which you and many others have done. Believe that we wouldn't be doing this if we think your work is utterly trivial. Again, thanks for all you've done thus far and please embrace valuable and constructive criticisms.

Hi guys~. I am in China ~

I will check and talk with dane when i am back

here ate few things

- material of pancho
normally there are no fabric exactly same noth sides
It's true ^^ we tried best to match ~

re: boots

Mr Chad tried best to work it our by hand
for a long time. although the feedback wasnt good
enough. I want to respect his work.
in fact. we cut off some length at final to
make the jeans fitting good.
Dane told me about heal cutting a bit, I have to
check when I back.

I always try to improve things if we can ^^
this project was very very cared by Dane and ankit
for many months and I am personally
like the result overally.

anyway. I will read all feedbacks when I can~
thank you guys.

and very very special thanks to Dane and Ankit
of coure. Trevor!! made the wonderful sculpts

thanks

Denny

I will have my painter do some weathering on boots
main painter is with me in china now

with this job. you will see different feeling.
if you dont like the painting, we can change it
but actually it's quite good.
I read different opinions and favorite all the time
we checked so many times for films and photos
to express his color with our painting.
anyway, I will keep checking feedbacks.

I reaspect all the criticism to improve this as much
as I can

I will show more when I am back~

different lighting~ angles~ will give you
more idea

pancho : we made quite a few times to
improve. adjusted scales. lengths etc on.
I didnt really check the weathering due to preparing
business trip.
i will tell the team to do wethering the pancho
and it will look better.
if there are better pancho made, plz let me see and check.
the scales of printing. material. color. length etc.

I did check enough with dane and ankit
of couse. our tailor team checked millions times

the color of face: let me think about it.
lightening the face can make it better or not.
the face has ecpression to show his firm and
carisma. it needs that kind of color.
color doesnt really change the ages.
always sculpt can decide the ages.

i will tell my team to take few more photos
after weathering the boots and pancho

thanks guys

denny

I personally can't wait to own this figure. He will be right next to RMs Doc for me. Heck Doc isn't even wearing the boots that RM put with him. The boots overall are the ONLY thing I have a nit with and if they can modded great, if not, no major deal. Keep your head held high. This is a great collaboration of many talented people and I can't wait to have it on my shelf.

Thanks, qbomb. :duff

I also want to point out that the vest will be weathered along with the boots and poncho. :)
