I like them all but if I had to put them in order it would be :

Temple Of Doom
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Last Crusade
Crystal Skull

You put Crystal Skull above TLC?! What are you smoking?

I know I'm in the minority but I love TLC.

You're not in the minority, I love it too both for nostalgia and just love the film itself.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I wouldnt argue with anyone who has Raiders ahead of TOD. I know Iam in the miniority but for me TOD is my favorite. I think its a great film and brings back alot of great memories for me. It was the summer of 1984, a summer season which is arguably the best ever :) When I think of TOD I remember seeing it with 3 different sets of friends the first week it was released. Then many rainy days that summer sitting in the theater allday long watching TOD along with Gremlins, Ghostbusters and the Karate Kid. I was 9 years old and for me its my favorite :)

Raiders- classic, original
TOD- last appearance of the real Indy- great action-real sense of danger
TLC-too jokey in tone, subpar action IMO
KOTCS- not bad in first half, just too goofy for my taste as it goes on

:lol

The best I can do is maybe put TLC and Crystal Skull tied. They both definitely have LOTS of problems. But two things drop LC below CS:

1. The cut-rate special effects in LC (cheap sets like the boat in the beginning, terrible blue screen work in the biplanes zeppelin stuff, the leap of faith). There was no reason the effects should have been that bad. Both Raiders and Temple had great effects despite being several years older. At least Crystal Skull had convincing effects.

2. The soul crushing disappointment I felt when I first watched it at age 16 in 1989. After years of worshipping Raiders, I simply couldn't believe how light weight and bland LC was, and how they ruined characters like Marcus and Sallah.

Last Crusade - It's lighter than Raiders. But not really a fault. I think it's more fun to watch. And the blonde girl is hot.

Raiders - I never liked the ending of Raiders. Because I would have peeked at the end. Which is scary...

Temple of Doom - I used to like this one a lot. But I haven't seen it in years. I'll watch the whole series on Blu-ray one day when I get a new setup.

Crystal Skull - Not as bad as many think. I used to think it's on par with Temple of Doom. But I changed my mind.

That's not a minority opinion at all, TLC is often regarded as the best next to Raiders and it's pretty rare to find anyone who dislikes it.

I guess I'm in the minority then. Cause I think it's horrible...

Yes. I'll say it again. Horrible.

The thing that makes TLC great is the Connery/Ford dynamic. It's awesome.

Chrystal Skull was ok, but (1) the monkey swinging and (2) the sword fight over the two cars ruined it for me. I didn't mind the fridge, and actually thought it was pretty clever, but the monkeys and that sword fight completely enraged me. They were so unneccessary and stupid.

Karen Allen happily driving off a cliff in a segment straight out of Bugs Bunny did not enrage you ?

What funny is I think 80% of whats wrong with Crystall Skull is all in the one jungle chase sequence (counting the killer ants as well)

Yeah, that definitely also enraged me along with the ridiculous 3 waterfall drops. So yes, I agree with ya. That entire jungle chase scene is awful.

I think that's the first time I've seen anyone say they dislike Raiders' ending. I always loved it, seeing it for the first time as a kid was unreal.

Yeah, the beauty of the end is that, as the movie-watcher, YOU get to see what's happening without having your face melted, but Indy doesn't.

I thought that was one of the better funny scenes in the movie. Especially Indy's reaction to the fact that there is yet another waterfall. Ford has similar facial reactions in the older movies too. Then the aftermath with Marion just holding the steering wheel was great.

But see I would look. It's messed up that the power of God or whatever is in the Ark can kill you even if you are a good person. I guess that scared me seeing that when I was young. To date, I'm sure I've only watched the movie completely about a handful of times. I usually would stop after the truck chase or boat scene with the mirror. I've seen the movie hundreds of times up to that point. Which is really weird when I think about it.

I guess the Ark and it's contents are so sacred that it's simply not meant for a human to witness.

I don't think it's horrible by any means, I like it a lot, but I always felt it was slightly overrated. It's pretty rare to meet people who dislike it or consider it the weakest, and I'm curious if there's more around here who do.
