In what order do you rate the Indiana Jones Movies

On the subject of best action scenes in the series, one I always feel is kind of overlooked despite it's brief length is in TLC when Indy uses the MP-40. It was neat seeing him use a more high-powered firearm for once. That'd be a good topic of it's own actually, best action scenes in the saga.

1. The Last Crusade
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Temple of Doom (just not the right style for me)
4. Haven't found the courage to watch Crystal Skull after hearing so many things about it, but it sounds like it'll be at the bottom.

Definitely agree with that. For me I find Raiders and TOD may as well be tied, same with TLC and KOTCS. I find both films go together well for their own reasons.

Indianna Jones V will be the BEST yet (delays--only necessary to ensure that the CG will be perfect with the ultra-high frame ratio and 3D effects)

Now that the DISNEY VAM-EMpyre owns this, sky's the limit. Nothing will top it.

:slap

Nothing will top ROTLA, ever:lecture

It'd be great to go back to the old-school effects of the first three, but sadly that probably won't be the case :( I sure miss the effects of the 80s, with good old-fashioned models and miniatures.

This could be achieved if Hollywood wasn't so lazy. Results Baby, results. I know there are some members on this Forum that could be up to the task. (Robbiethepainter and others) Let's make it happen. Please for the love of Cinema, let's make this happen.

I wish the fifth would go back to the old-school model and miniature work. Maybe it could happen, if the fifth ever gets off the ground.

1. RotLA
2. Last crusade- by default due to absence of flying rafts and refrigerators.
3. Temple of Doom -would be second if it wasn't for the stupid raft scene which is almost as bad as nuclear fridge below. Really George???floating rafts that land perfectly- that scene ruins the whole movie lol really makes you believe a "raft can fly"

10. Indiana Jones and the nuclear fridge shelter

Raiders and Last Crusade have just as many silly and implausible moments as the raft or refrigerator.

My wife found Young Indiana Jones on Netflix and was playing the first episode when I got home from work. Three hours later they're still watching episodes where he's a little kid. Safari in africa, meeting Norman Rockwell and Picasso in Paris, his first crush.... I wish someone would shoot someone or something would blow up. Holy crap this is weak.

I haven't seen Young Indy in forever, but I remember it getting much better once he's in WWI with his Belgian buddy.

I hardly remember the Young Indy series. I do remember the NES game for it though, which I always enjoyed despite how tough it was.

Which moments are those?? Which moments in the other 2 are so silly that you are completely sucked out of the movie when your brain goes "wait a minute that was some seriously lame and unbelievable stuff". You can suspend disbelief for a lot of stuff but not the two scenes I mentioned.

How about the submarine bit in Raiders, and Last Crusade has plenty:

The entire opening sequence, with Young Indy acquiring his whip and whip skills, his chin scar, fear of snakes, love of adventure and his fedora all in one afternoon and in the over-the-top manner it all occurs.

The plane explosion in the tunnel, which should've not only completely engulfed the interior but also caught the car in the blast radius.

Indy somehow managing to avoid falling with the collapsing tank and making it to the ledge of the desert plains. Okay, so he grabbed at the vines offscreen, plausible enough explanation, but still.

The Grail Knight. For me this is the single biggest WTF? moment in the series. A Knight who's been guarding the grail for hundreds of years and has survived without any sort of nourishment and presumably has just simply stood guard all that time.

None of this is enough to make me dislike the film or think any less of it, mind you. But I find it unfair that TOD and KOTCS get picked apart for their unrealistic moments when the other films also have plenty.

You have some fair points but given the supernatural/religious undercurrents in RotLA and crusade its more acceptable/believable for me then flying rafts and nuclear explosions that send a man flying in a fridge and he steps out unscathed.. its one thing to suspend disbelief for those types of supernatural things then flat out impossible death defying events based on laws of physics and natural science. Do u see difference??
