The way I see it is that I'm past caring. Oversaturation, poor products being put out, whatever the case, I'm done. So I know that if I go overboard, I'll regret it, because 10 years from now I'll care even less. So I'm sticking with as frugal representations as possible, based on what sets off my nostalgia the hardest. I was planning a huge X-Men display but, honestly, I hardly care anymore. So considering Cyclops is practically the MC of the franchise, him plus a Phoenix Jean, and then Xavier and Magneto will be more than enough for me. I have too many things I'm interested in to be going deeper. Just a Ghost Rider alone will cost me 1K with how prices are going if they give him his bike. So it's really about choosing the most important bits.
I'm not sure about buying other brands, but these new 1/18 WH40K figures are very tempting. A proper Modular Sanctum Sanctorum and X-Mansion would tempt me too, but I haven't bought any Lego in about a decade, and they don't really put out anything I really "need". I might break down and get the Mezco Doom. But more or less I'm trying to stick to 1/6th only. It's hard enough buying the Omnis when they're going for ~100€ now.
I just hope they branch out more as time goes on. I'd hate for them to turn into HT 2.0 but with them milking DC while HT milks Marvel & SW. They should grab some big name videogame IPs like God Of War, something like Conan, such things. They're raising the game and such pieces shouldn't be wasted on random D-List characters, and I say that as someone who's got a lot of such favourites. Such 500$ tags should be reserved for a Sherlock Holmes and a Dracula, figures with clothing and style plus importance that'd benefit from the "museum" treatment.
