Received mine today and just got it out of the box for a quick inspection. At first glance no obvious quality issues, I’m not seeing any flaws. Again just taking a quick look though.

Honestly, I’m a bit underwhelmed by this figure. Slightly regretting selling my Hot Toys JL Superman to make room for this guy. The likeness of the InArt head sculpt is pretty good. The skin tone is more accurate (paler) than the HT head sculpt. The paint application has a bit more nuance than I was seeing in a lot of photos. But maybe due to Cavill’s pale complexion it seems a bit lacking in detail to me. However that could be because of the way Cavill’s skin actually looks, if that makes sense.

Even though the likeness to the Hot Toys figure is more stylized by comparison, I think I actually like it better. And that bright blue and red of the JL suit really popped. The shoulders for the HT figure were too big, yes. But that still kind of worked in the same stylized way as the head sculpt and the bright blue and red.

The suit of the InArt figure isn’t as shiny as I was hoping. In a lot of shots in the film the suit has a slick almost wet looking sheen to it. In normal lighting that effect from the film doesn’t come across to me, at least for the first inspection in-hand.

But on the other hand this InArt figure is undeniably by far more screen accurate. It’s still a fine figure. It just lacks shelf presence to me.

I will sell this figure without hesitation if Hot Toys makes a JL Superman 2.0 (red and blue suit) that improves the head sculpt.
That's a great take on the figure. As you state, paint is very subdued to the point of them trying to not make him look as tanned like you said but the result is too pale, even the hair lacks a distinctive color and is too uniformed. The Inart suit is basically the same color as the Hot Toys Man of Steel suit. Stylized is a great term for the Hot Toys Supermans.....unfortunately.

Just got my invoice from Gundamit, so others who ordered from them should be getting it as well.

Sheesh this and The Batman invoices back to back :thud:
Got my invoice from Gundamit also. Same day I got my shipping invoice for the Jazzinc 89 batmobile though, which i paid first. Good thing Gundamit gives us 14 days to pay the balance. First time ordering with them, so let's see how well they do.

Niice- and, as far as I'm aware, this is the first report around these parts of anyone receiving an InArt invoice from Gundamit- unless there's mention in the HP thread.

Looks like they get stock in a timely manner, which was my only real concern. I wasn't aware of their typically great InArt prices until after Superman popped up but I'd already placed my order elsewhere.

I think Paul will be my first InArt from Gundamit- and the Joker 4 pack will be my first cancellation!
I received mine on Oct 31st. Still not shipped though.

You shouldn’t have anything to worry about. I’ve ordered from their sister site ShowZStore many times for transformers. Always great to use them. Their CS is up there with some of the best when it comes to transformers. Hopefully it’s the same when it comes to 1/6 stuff.

When it comes to shipping, they can be a little slow. I just got a figure in that took 5 days from paying the invoice before they shipped it out. As far as packaging goes, they use corner protectors, then wrap in bubble wrap and cover that in opaque plastic, so not super robust packing but it gets the job done.

For overseas orders, who has the best packaging so far? I'm familiar with just Sideshow, Bbts, Entertainmentearth (all US based) and Kghobby so far.

Also, thinking about giving Sugo a try. Anyone knows if they are good to do business with?

I don't know. Sometimes they are crappy with their packaging and boxes arrive beaten up and affects the contents especially with bigger items. Those plastic corners can only do so much. Getting replacement parts sometimes has been a hassle as well. Sure they offer points back but I don't find it in equivalent value when the item is busted and they're not willing to further push to get it replaced or fixed.

Sugo is good, I’ve ordered a couple of times through them. But when it comes to packaging, Popcultcha’s packaging looks like it would survive an atomic bomb.

👍

A fair summary of what we’re saying: InArt is more movie accurate but also more bland compared with Hot Toys.

The facial expression on the standard resting face InArt head sculpt doesn’t pop on the shelf. (The angry heat vision head sculpt is an improvement over Hot Toys but that’s not what I want to display him with!) The InArt body/musculature and suit is more screen accurate but has no wow factor, no pizazz.

It’s on the bland side. For a character that has such a larger-than-life presence on screen in the film.

I’ll be very curious to see what Hot Toys does with a JL Superman 2.0 if they ever make one. At this point they almost must have a go at a new, different head sculpt. I won’t buy it if they once again recycle the same old head sculpt from HT BvS Supes.

To me the bright suit JL Superman is like a concept piece that represents what Snyder’s Superman would eventually have become at the end of his arc if there had been a JL 2 and 3 by Snyder.

They’re rumored to be doing a BvS Superman 2.0, not JL. It’d pair with their BvS Batman 2.0.

I personally think the expression is great. It’s based on the Courtroom scene. With the eyes looking to the side, it’s awesome. Imo, it’s got presence.

Hot Toys in ways got more things that are accurate with their 1.0 and will certainly edge INART out with the 2.0. I still doubt it’d be better in terms of realism, natural proportions, proper scaled down details, and quality though.

They outsourced another custom sculpt for that just like their Artisan TDK Joker. And yup it's BVS.

Got my Superman yesterday and finally had some time to check it out today.

Had Black Adam stored away since I got him, but Unboxed it specifically for this:

Yeah…the material for BA’s suit is way too thick and overall size of his body is ridiculous.

Overall, I’m loving Cavillman. It’s really a phenomenal figure.

Ah, ok. I’ll wait and see for the HT BvS Supes 2.0 then. Still would have to have a new head sculpt for me to even consider.

Yeah, fair point about the moveable eyes. I’ll spend a little more time with it this evening and try getting some photos over the weekend. I may warm to it.

I basically think it’s fine but I’m just somewhat underwhelmed by it, especially for the price tag.

That is a great pose for Rambo.

Stealing it.
