Didn't expect to enjoy this figure as much as I do.

The chosen suit material is easy to work with and great for posing.
Including 2 types of capes (drape and wired) is the way to go. I'm seeing myself using both.

Overall I'm very glad I picked this up and Hot Toys probably can't improve much on this one.

I too think it’s going to be tough for HT to out-do this one. We won’t see a HT 2.0 Supes for a few years until the hype simmers down from the banging Inart release.

The custom sculpt they were using as per my last correspondence looked almost identical to IAs. But still, yup I couldn't agree more.

HT’s repurposed custom sculpt may look almost identical to IA’s, we also gotta consider how the final product will come out.

IA’s retail sculpt turned out to be a tad softer than the proto…could you imagine the waxy look on HT’s sculpt?

That recent Bruce Wayne…it looks as if someone is wearing a Bale mask *shivers*

HT better goes back to MOS version to have a variety on the market. That would be a better marketing strategy. Whoever wanted fancy BvS version probably already got InArt one.

Nah, HT/HChan are petty. They’re gonna do BVS Superman to try and ‘reclaim’ their ‘crown’. (Nothing can convince me their Artisan Joker ‘dethroned’ IA’s joker. HT version is decent, but no way does it over take IA’s.)

Besides, They already did Batman 2.0. It’s only logical their Superman 2.0 is next.

My theory is: Mos is not on their radar because InArt aren’t doing it and they have the new superman to make.

My DC inart collectables!

I Saw Dean Knight's videos of this and it really impressed me. Inart raised the bar here. Not that I'd ever afford one mind, it's just nice to see how the other half lives once in a while.

Also noticed if you’ll turn thighs slightly, legs look thicker.

Yeah, I had done that too.

I wish the piping would also go outwards a bit too though. Since they inaccurately placed it where they did, it also creates the illusion that his legs are thinner than they really are.

Hot Toys are the pettiest in the game. I do think they’ll do a good job with it though. Probably studying up on INART’s right now lol.

I wonder what those will do who ended up getting the INART version “cause it was the only one available at the time” since most will naturally want the Hot Toys offering instead once they see it. Plus, to pair with their BvS Batfleck 2.0 on PO.

I keep it simple, for the shared IPs, I’ll just go INART or wait for them.

I personally wouldn’t be opposed to getting HT’s armored Batman 2.0 to display with InArt’s Superman, since IA themselves said they won’t be doing it.

I’m sure HT superman 2.0 will be fine in of itself, but it needs to come with an additional portrait OR a reporter Clark Kent 2 pack for me to have any interest in it.

Man those were the days…good times. Good times.

Imagine a BVS superman 2 in 1??

I’m going for a BvS Trinity display myself (whenever/if that ends up happening by IA :lol). But I agree, I would’ve done the same since IA isn’t doing the Armored version. I like the HT original armored figure too

Would be cool to see a 2-in-1 set. We’ll see what they cook up

Clark two pack is actually a good idea, as InArt left him behind.

Man I'd love to see a new Routh Supes from HT someday. I can only imagine all the massive improvements they could make to this figure with a better sculpt, outfit and proportions.

All are supposedly 6’1”

At l this point, I’d like to know if InArt were told to make Superman huge.
This. I just checked Henry and Pattinson's height and they both are 1.85 m. Couldn't understand this drastic difference in their heights here

Both should be between 12.1-12.3 (depending on the boots) right?

Correct, Pattinson should be tallest here.

Try using extended ankle pegs if you can,
it’ll make the boots themselves not rise as high but that should help give the appearance of longer legs.

Use reference of Pattinson’s legs in the boots to gauge where they should sit at his shins first.

If this is doable without effecting the accuracy of how the suit sits he’ll look better, but you won’t get him to match or be taller than their Cavill so don’t display them side by side. Sucks but what can ya do now.

I just don’t understand it man, they keep these figures laying around their office and don’t have many that have been produced yet, no one thought to scale side by side before production?

What are their character heights in their respective films? An official reference.

Yes, most of the time, the character height equals the actor height, but not always.

I keep putzing with the shoulders. Initially, I think my mod was too dramatic. Cavil's shoulders really do have a narrow slope to them in the suit in BvS. Which InArt tried to replicate, but his overly large biceps and head kinda threw off the shape.

So this is where I've landed. I think it's a good compromise between a wider shoulder but still somewhat sloping shape. I just removed the shoulder armor, used just a small strip of foam tape, and some 3M to reattach. So it's a more subtle mod now. Will have to do, because that collar is delicate and I can't keep taking the suit on and off.

Not an issue with the shoulder mod being too extensive, his biceps need to be slightly bigger.
