I often forget I used to have those Superman Returns figures. There was a separate Clark Kent release aswell.

Same. I had them all and loved them. I still have the 2-in-1 set though it's been slowly getting modified over the years. I'd much prefer a well made official statue at this point but don't really see anyone going back to Returns sadly.I often forget I used to have those Superman Returns figures. You are setting yourself up for disappointment. No figure outside of the custom world is perfect.I always regretted selling the Reeve HT figure.
This release needs to be perfect.
No custom is perfect. There are countless examples of this. You'll nvr get 100% agreement on any figure, custom or not.You are setting yourself up for disappointment. No figure outside of the custom world is perfect.
The Inart Cavill Superman looks pretty damn good to me. Far better than those overdone customs that go heavy on airbrush shading on the suit.
Just because something is a custom doesn't mean it's automatically 10/10.
I agree. When done right, customs can be pretty amazing; but, as you said, a custom item doesn’t automatically put it as a top contender no matter who the artist(s) involved are. To franpincho’s point, there really are some that look like bad bootlegs. The Inart Cavill Superman looks pretty damn good to me. I think that Mezco sculpt is perfectly good for that scale, it's actually the head I've used since day one of owning that figure.I just want a smiling Reeve that looks like the man. It can be a cake decoration for all I care…or it can be a $10K Arnie Kim statue that somebody wants to donate to me. That’s all I want: A Reeve with teeth that looks better than Mezco’s (who I’ll still give credit to for ACTUALLY DOING IT).
I think it would be a hell of a way to make a splash/introduce more American customers to their brand, but I’m also curious if the Winderfest reveal hasn’t made them a little gunshy with this particular release. To come right out the gate with something so sought after only to have people collectively dogpile it makes me feel like, now, they’re going to be real skittish.Do you think we are going to see an update of this at SDCC? I have high hopes for this figure seeing how much they improved Aragorn from the first figure shown and the great likeness they have achieved in every figure so far.
Really hope this hasn't been cancelled. Nearly a year since we heard anything new isn't a good sign.
I highly doubt it was canceled, just got revealed way too early in the prototype phase. I got a feeling this will be up for pre order really soon if they show it SDCC. The real question is though, do I need a Clark Kent figure and am I willing to make space for it which I probably will ahahaReally hope this hasn't been cancelled.
