InArt - Dune: Paul Atreides

I kind of expected a little more excitement about this figure. Especially with the perfect timing of the sequel.

I'd be all over it but 1/6 is too small

The only other Stillsuit wearing character I’d want on display is Duncan. Stilgar is great; I’m just aiming for a minimal display.

Chani in the finale Freideken armour- if that’s how one would describe it- would be my vote for her, or at least include that gear to be worn over the Stillsuit.

I’d be happy with Aug Toys rounding off the rest of the cast. Their quality seems essentially on par with HT.

I don’t remember how that Fedaykin armour was described in the book or how it looked in the first film (if at all) do you by chance have a faithful illustration/rendering or something of it?

I was iffy till I saw part 2.

Then in my minds eye I saw this figure paired with his opponent on a shelf and it was go-time.

Chani is a young woman and still filled with fury over this insult. Give her time she will come around. Any Emperor is going to have a wife and many other consorts. She should be angling for Consort #1.

Obviously she won’t look like this fighting in the desert, but there is a point in this story where she is not ready to fight right? Or would that constitute a spoiler?

If I could choose only one other character to get made and have on my shelf, it'd be Jessica.

Always felt Zendaya was a bad choice for Chani and Part 2 unfortunately didn't change that. So, no desire to have her figure.

Ironically, Chani is the only other Stillsuit character I'd want, but I'd much rather get someone in a different outfit -- Feyd or Jessica -- for a bit of contrast on the shelf. The tailoring of Jessica's outfits in both films was immaculate, so they could make for stunning figures in the right hands, IMO. I accept that Chani is the most likely due to the character's significance, though.

I don't think the Gurney proto looks good, so it could be a mixed bag. Interested to see if they do eventually start working on the ladies of Dune.

I could see AugToys doing Feyd, Stilgar and Chani from Part 2. I don't see INART doing anything more than Paul for this license but that remains to be seen.

For now, I'm betting on AugToys giving us a wider range of side characters to pick from since they were open to making Duncan, Leto and Gurney from Part 1.

I actually might prefer that 'vision armour' as an option- even though I found the aesthetic a little jarring when I first saw it- but I'm not sure if it's 'confirmed' look or just something Paul saw in one of many possible futures.

It appeared that Dune 2 recreated his vision scene but replaced Paul with Chani and the Fremen were all wearing their own native armour.

I was referring to the below, which is essentially just a armoured vest that slips on over the stillsuit- and Chani ties a blue ribbon around her arm, either for some undisclosed significant cultural purpose or just so the audience could make her out in the melee.

This would make for a great companion to Paul in a stillsuit though.

If Chani gets over her hangups and becomes one of Paul's elite guard/fedaykin, I'd like her or Stillgar in that suit over another Stillsuit.

Finally got through the first movie, enjoyed dit much more than I thought I would. Still dont think I will be ordering this guy knowing a little about his future. Looks great though.

You know one thing that confuses me, the book is very clear that the blue eyes DO NOT show whites. You don't see an iris. They are just solid blue. Yet every movie shows them just kinda blue. They have a wash of blue. Make it totally alien! Make them solid blue.

Yes I would also prefer a companion character that is not in a stillsuit …but I’ll take whatever bk the stillsuits from InArt and Aug do look pretty good …but some more contrast would be more visually interesting. That’s another reason I would love to see Feyd or another Harkonnen.

The same reason they haven't given any movie Batman completely white eyes under the regular costume; lessens the emotion or expression of the acting. Eye movement does add a lot to the emotion of any scene. It kinda works for Deadpool since the mask is animated but for the Fremen, doubt it. Though, I still would want to see a Batman with all white eyes.

Curious do you mean by physical attraction, personality or both? Because Irulan is a trained Bene Geserit and seems to lack individuality. She only married Paul out of necessity and seems more like a liability in that if she tried to stage a coup or assassinate Paul.

He probably means as a figure to display alongside Paul since she has a more distinctive and unique appearance.

I’ll probably order but would like to first see if they offer Chani as a companion piece. I think the other characters would be fine offered through Aug, but I’d prefer Chani to be at the same level of quality as Paul.

I’ve been very invested in this IP now, just watched Dune ‘84 and prefer DV’s Dune by far. Safe to say I’m a fan now! If they offer another character, I seriously hope it’s Chani.

In the book Chani falls in love with Paul and is just happy to be with him amidst everything that is happening.
In the movie she has a bit more agency around her beliefs and concerns for what Paul is getting himself into. I have a feeling they won't make her a concubine in the next film like in the book, that doesn't gel well with the movie version of her. I imagine they will still have a "relationship" outside of Pauls marriage though......as they will need to for what comes next.

These beads on Chani’s boots and ankle are a nice personal touch to her outfit.
