I have no stake in this set, but I'm happy to see the positivity back in here.

**** negativity. Just ****ing enjoy, man.

I don’t think it’s so much ‘positivity’ as it is being ‘level headed’.

I want to make that distinction because any form of positivity can be viewed as bootlicking or blind fanboyism…and they’re not entirely wrong about that. But there’s no harm in taking a wait and see approach with a bit of optimism. It’s what we all should practice. Too much negativity or blind positivity can do a number on anyone’s’ psyche IMO.

ill look forward to yanshuai and black pictures, if those don't somehow convince me I'm dropping my nrd lol

don't think I can swing 1750 for 2 'okay' figures and a handful of accessories while the rest is just left to stay in the box
but who am I kidding, I might swing it just to **** on the set and cull what I need

Seeing your profile avatar and seeing your initial reaction…I completely get the frustrations. This **** ain’t cheap and i wholeheartedly agree with you “okay” doesn’t cut it, especially at that price point.

But like I said before, with InArt, it’s always best to wait for more. And the 2 bloggers/influencers you mentioned are damned good ones at truly showing us what the final product looks like. Their presentations are usually the ones that quell people’s fears and concerns. And if Arthur looks crap in their photos, well…yeah man, cancel the **** out of it.

I don't know if I'd call it negativity. I guess we all see things differently. I'm glad that a lot of people are happy. At the same time, I think there's validity to those expressing disappointment / concern. I'm not going to downplay either side.

This company has put out some banger figures no doubt. Their Aragorn is probably my FOTY. But there's also good reason to be skeptical. It's not baseless or premature. The company does have a track record. They've disappointed on occasion. They have an issue with consistency. And quality control. And customer service. And they haven't always delivered on their promises.

This is a very expensive set, so emotions are running high. Some have shown less enthusiasm with what's been shown, and they too have a stake in this (up to $300 in NRD).

Is that going to change when we see some better photographs?

Possibly.
Hopefully.
But not necessarily.
It hasn't always.

In my experience, I don't feel as comfortable giving Inart the benefit of the doubt. I don't think they've earned this kind of trust.

All this is in response to one video, though. Video compression on Instagram/FB/YouTube obscures details. The exact same thing happened in the Aragorn thread - the first glimpse of the production figure was a video, and people freaked out and thought the sculpt had been changed. Hologram AI's comparison of the sculpt for the red suit figure shows it probably hasn't been, just like after a while it became clear that Aragorn's wasn't changed. Downgraded a tad in production, sure, but that figure's still terrific.

Caution's fine and understandable (especially if the video didn't especially impress), but jumping to conclusions based on that one video seems overly premature to me. I totally sympathise with Brooklynwolf's frustrations about the cycles of over-reaction that happen with every release here, it's crazy how little seems to be learned considering how often it happens...

Edit: I should note this is all very easy for me to say as I don't have this on order and I'm just an observer. I totally understand people who've sunk NRDs into this being a bit more worried, but still. More photos will come out and Yan and Black will probably make them look fantastic. Unless they aren't. :lol
