I love janky stop motion; it’s yet another layer of artsy-fartsy on top of the rest of InArt’s presentation.
It really contrasts with HT’s ‘This is product. Photoshop! Colours! Explosion! You buy now!’ marketing style.
HT also just drop figures for immediate PO and they do it entirely out of the blue so I don’t see this as something to worry about. Isn’t that exactly what happened with the Iron Man, Cap and Black Panther just announced? IA have given us the date and we’re all salivating at the prospect of finally seeing the full package revealed. They’re doing exactly what they need to do.
IA had to build hype before but we all knew Batman was on the way and the hype is fully alive already. Showing promo images a week or more in advance of the PO date could also give collectors time to talk themselves out of ‘really needing’ the figure so, it’s probably more business savvy to just blow everyone’s mind and take our money in one fell swoop while we’re overwhelmed with awe and drunk on dopamine.
