But I own Aragorn and the likeness for me is nowhere near as good as this
K- so Aragorn is InArt’s worst? Not sure what your point is.
Let’s say Aragorn is the worst of the InArt bunch; is the figure as a whole still in the upper echelons of all 1/6 figures?

What I’m saying is that, even at their worst, InArt’s figures are still amongst the best out there.

I think the biggest issue with Aragorn is the botched facial hair paint apps. Once you redo the stubble and eyebrows, the likeness drastically improves.

Whether you're arguing for Hot Toys, or for Inart's, you're comparing mediocrity at the end of the day.

At some point, somebody will make a new rendition that renders both of these figures obsolete.

-

When determining the quality of any given figure, we all have a different criteria.

Do we consider the added fun factor, nostalgia, and personal attachment..? or do we try to be objective and focus only on accuracy, material, and execution..?

Do we consider the design complexity in our assessment? Because Inart's Batman remains impressive in that regard!

-

For me, Joker is their worst figure, without question. And Superman gets my vote for 2nd worst.

Aragorn / Gandalf / Paul are likely my favorites (although I only have Aragorn).

But regardless. Inart's poor QC / customer support will taint any figure, hence why I haven't been able to enjoy any of them, and I won't buy anything else from this company.

Still one of my favorites, but I can get why people have issues with it.

I have both figures and I agree that there will undoubtedly be better updated versions coming down the road. This version of Batman I think will be revisited in figure form quite a bit, just look at how many times Hot Toys alone has done the Bale and Affleck Batman figures. I’m actually kinda shocked that Hot Toys haven’t announced an updated Artisan version already at this point.

For me, they both have their strengths and weaknesses. The capes (obviously) and I would even say the unmasked sculpts are not great on either for various reasons. Hot Toys just doesn’t look much like Pattinson to me whereas InArt is under-scaled, has an oddly yellowish skin tone, and the rooted hair just has way too much volume on mine and most I’ve seen outside of Justin’s review copy. I have regretted not going for the sculpted on this and may actually sell off my rooted sculpt because it’s never getting displayed.

I think InArt got the color and fine detailing of the suit down better than Hot Toys, but it also has the over exaggerated wide shoulder pads (that fall off at the slightest touch on my figure), overly long arms (with overly long gauntlets as well), and some other little things like the angles of the armored torso pieces are less accurate on the InArt overall it seems. The Hot Toys torso sections are way too rounded off, the yellow on the boots is too bright, the belt pieces are too big. Neither got the pants correct, which should be a different, nylon-esque track suit material. The InArt cowl looks more life-like compared to the overly bulbous Hot Toys cowl, but the Hot Toys actually incorporates more of the cowl’s defining characteristics, like the shorter ears that protrude out of the cowl at a very particular angle. InArt’s cowl completely misses on that, especially when looking at them both head-on.

I give JND a lot of hell but they still have done the most accurate looking Pattinson Batman to my eyes—not taking into account their unmasked sculpt, woof!

Agreed on all counts.

If JND do a 1/6 of this, that will be hard to top I imagine.

Yep, this has become my favorite Batman suit so it is likely the one WB/DC figure I would splurge on a JND version for. I’ve eyed the 1/3 off and on for a while but even they didn’t do a great job on the cape either. I also never totally loved the pose they chose, like he’s doing a weird flexing pose or something.

I’m a simple collector I guess. I care about the details and accuracy as much as the next guy but I try to not to overthink it, otherwise I wouldn’t find any enjoyment from mass-produced stock figures. Between the two licensed offerings, INART’s is superior imo, despite its flaws, of which I think Hot Toys has even more flaws/gets more wrong. If this figure is considered subpar, then that means most, if not all my Hot Toys figures are trash then. But I personally don’t see it that way and won’t allow myself to.

I also don’t think neither of these companies will revisit this till Part II comes out. Just my opinion.

I could see Hot Toys doing a 2.0 Artisan. I hope they can fix some of their issues and take the strengths of InArt. I’ve seen HT sculpt repainted and rooted, that looked really good. But they need to scale both head sculpts down.

I didn’t think they’d revisit until Part II either based on a 2026 release, but with it getting pushed back until 2027 I could see HT doing an artisan. But I don’t know if they’d retool everything. HT would be good if:

-Scaled headsculpt better, and adjust cowl to be more accurate (size & shape)
-better cape
-collar scaled larger
-abdomen section material and shape
-knee pads scaled down

Sounds like a lot, but they’ve done improvements with Bale. So maybe? lol

I think TDK is huge in China, and not sure if Patterson fan base is there yet.

I agree with you on this. The pants are indeed wrong on both they got some details right but the material isn't accurate. InArt said they'll be doing 2.0 at some point starting with Ledger Joker so I can see them doing a 2.0 Pattinson Batman down the line with newer suit, body and sculpts. Same for HT they'll eventually announce a 2.0 Artisan Batman with rooted BW sculpt and maybe a standard version with sculpted hair. More likely a possible DX release also. Time will tell but I'm happy with both for now.

Don't forget pants material could be more accurate the material is there they'll just have to make it properly this time.(Asmus has used it for their recent DMC1 Dante and updated DMC5 Dante pants) maybe even update the boot covers not to have so much yellow.

Agree! Forgot about the yellow too. Needed to be toned down, almost non existent. Personally I was concerned if they’d even release Part II due to everything going on with the new DCU, so it’s possible HT and InArt are waiting too.

So here's a list of observations after endlessly comparing it to the movie almost every day:

1. Fabric of the pants should have been like the skydiving suits, this kind of baggy texture
2. Likeness could be slightly improved, but it's pretty damn good already
3. Seamless cowl with articulation, wouldn't mind much if it's limited
4. Cowl texture should've been slightly more reflective
5. Collar should've been bigger.
6. Two capes instead of one, draped and wired. Also there's a difference of length between some of the folds, some should be above others.
7. Flashlight is supposed to be yellow, not blue
8. Material of the Riddler cards got a downgrade from what was shown in the prototypes, some of the textures don't match to what was on-screen.
9. Neck of the suit is not attached to the beginning to the start of the head, making it weird if you're trying to match the look of Bruce when he's without the cowl watching Riddler's video about his father.
10. Keyboard should've been QWERTY not alphabetical.
11. Better QC, from wrong headsculpts, two left boots, bent ears, missing magnets, capes painted inaccurately, paint apps being ******, etcetera.

This release is far from perfect, but it's still the best figure I'll probably ever own, it has an insane shelf presence due to the complexity it has. Major props to the actual suit designers, their work essentially got me into this hobby because I couldn't miss my chance to have it in my room
