It's not that I don't want the homegoods included... just not interested in posing him with them.

Really. I love having accessories on the figures. Makes them look more busy and interesting.

I'm sure this statement is going to get some of y'all's panties in a twist...but I still think as far as mass produced likenesses go, the Asmus Helm's Deep Aragorn is still the one to beat. NONE of them have nailed it, but that one is probably the closest we've gotten. Under the right lighting it does present as Viggo. Obviously the finish isn't anywhere as clean as this IA one, but then again we've not seen what their production paint is like either.

For me, I’d say the ACI Aragorn is the best Aragorn made to date in all areas.

There’s just a degree of likeness that no other Viggo sculpt we’ve seen has managed to portray.
Plus the outfit and accessories look better than everything Asmus have done.

Not a’mass produced likeness’ but would be nice to see if it manages to translate into a 3 dimensional object and retain the likeness. For some reason, that seems to be where things fall apart. Asmus showed some great looking renders for Helms Deep Aragorn and then the actual figures comes out looking totally botched.

This sculpt is definitely in the realm of the Seinfeld episode with the "two-face" girl. One moment it looks good, another moment it doesn't...

Yep.
I own it, but I have to agree. Way too doll-ish as is.
If I had the skill to redo the hair and repaint the sculpt, I might look more favorably on it, though.

I still say Asmus' very first Aragorn had a very good face sculpt. The molded hair sculpt totally wrecked it, but the face was actually quite good.

(Not the "yelling" face, obviously.)

Did Dean change anything in the face on the sculpted hair version from the bald one aside from adding the sculpted hair? Looks a little different. Here are a 2 painted versions of the bald sculpt, both haired by Shane Poole/OneSixthSalon. For me, the sculpt is still missing something. The main issues I see is the chin/lower mouth look to be too pushed too far forward
