I'm in for a real fur TaunTaun sure !! This company has proven with the Wampa and Bantha that they can do large furred Star Wars creatures well.Would anyone be interested in a “real” fur Tauntaun from this company? I asked them the other day if they’d make it and they told me it’s their next project. Maybe they were just placating me I don’t know, or maybe that was their plan all along. At this stage I have huge doubts Hot Toys will ever make one, especially with the fur, and that Sideshow one is an obscene price in the secondary market. After getting the Wampa in-hand I’m so impressed what this company does with fur. Judging from Hot Toys’ Chewies and Wicket you just can’t re-produce that on a mass scale, which is where a company with limited runs come in.
Just drop them a line on Facebook and register your interest. The more people that do it the more likely they’ll make it. Let’s face it Tauntauns would probably sell better than Wampas, and there’s no real alternative out there atm, and probably won’t be for a very long time. I forgot to mention in my original hounding of them how they could offer two versions, or two Tauntaun heads, one for Luke’s and one for Han’s. I know I’d buy two and display them either side of the Wampa.I'm in for a real fur TaunTaun sure !! And I mean come on let's face it Hot Toys are never going to do a TaunTaun, and if they did it'd be a plastic sculpted fur version. Real fur looks far more authentic.
Let's see how many people are really interested and are not just complainers that we never get larger beasts from the SW universe.
Now that would be sick !! Nice that they offer alternatives to make them look different in the display.Just drop them a line on Facebook and register your interest. I bought their Wampa, and asked them last month if they had another project planned, and they volunteered "Taun Taun."Would anyone be interested in a “real” fur Tauntaun from this company? Mine was $448 shipped to the US. You can also request blood, or no blood on the fur; I asked for no blood because it seemed way more than what was in the movie. From where and how much?
My only concern with this Wampa is that it's more clearly the special edition Wampa than the original one, and that his face looks more sad/depressed than scary, but they've done a great job on it and it'll make an awesome side-by-side with Hoth Luke.
It’s a statueI don't see their FB page - is that how you ordered it? And is it a fully articulated figure beneath, have basic ariculation, or is it more like a statue? And is it huge next to a 12" human fig?
https://inboxstudio.wixsite.com/pipatponI take it they are Facebook only? Anyone have a link?
Wow, okay so they weren’t just saying it to get rid of me. Time to get excited then. Hopefully they offer up both Luke and Han versions. Judging from their Bantha and Wampa they’ll absolutely nail the Tauntaun. I have huge doubts Hot Toys will ever offer it up, a lot of the hope for that went after the ESB anniversary.I bought their Wampa, and asked them last month if they had another project planned, and they volunteered "Taun Taun."
The scale is just about right I’d say, it’s a big beast. The arm is removable, and it comes with a blooded piece that can be fitted in to make it look like he just had his arm freshly cut off by Luke. The fur is much better quality than the Hot Toys Chewbaccas and Wicket. You can tell because of the limited numbers each one has been done with more care. I have 25/99, so I’m not sure if that means they only made 99, or they have another run planned. I paid through PayPal and it was $229 + $110 shipping to the UK. $339 total. Like I say it’s big and so is the base. It got here in less than a week from them sending. Oh yeah and it was packed very well for transit. Sorry for the gushing, as you can tell I’m really excited with what these guys are doing. These OT creatures are a dream come true for me.I don't see their FB page - is that how you ordered it? Their Facebook page, I just added a comment under their recent post about it shipping asking if they were still available. They PMed me immediately. The price was $229 and $180 shipping to the US, so $409 total. Agree that it's the SE Wampa, but since I've got two of Sideshow's Tauntauns, this guy will look terrific in between them... I will post photos once it comes. From where and how much?
