Even if the movie is fantastic I really wonder if there's still enough interest out there in the character, or in watching a quaint, old-fashioned adventure with an archaeologist in a fedora for 2 hours. I don't get the sense the younger generation even cares much about the original movies, unlike SW and other franchises which are still going strong.
They should have made 4 and 5 a long time ago, like in the 90s when the general audience weren't watching their phones instead of the movie in front of them. I love Indy, but the franchise never did him the justice he deserved. Even computer games had a better plot at times, so here we are hoping this doesn't tank and is a fitting send off for the man in the hat!

I've been watching Clear and Present Danger. That came out in 94/95 I think, when Ford would have been in his early 50's.
When I was watching it, I had the same thought. They should have done Indy 4 and 5, or maybe a 6th, make it a second trilogy, during the 90's. Release them in the 2nd half of the decade.

Early 90s Indy.....what could have been.....

There's a higher chance of me liking the film than some of you ''ROTLA purists''. What with me being someone who loves TLC on a par with Raiders. I didn't like KOTCS when I first saw it (and still find it easily the weakest of the 4 films so far) but have since dropped some of my complaints after realizing that the other films also have ridiculous, unsurviveable action set pieces.

Hopefully DoD will be better paced and not be saddled with so much boring exposition as KOTCS was.

I cant watch KOTCS at all any more…

1. Fridge
2. Snake Rope
3. Falling Truck ( I hate the TOD scene with the raft also)
4. Monkeys
5. Motorcycle Chase

The only scene I think was done well, is the graveyard….and thats super short.
