Like Little Mermaid, I'm just skipping this cr@p - even if both films may have some slight redeeming moments. Think the rehash of Mermaid and now another Moana....just broke me. Am just sick of the milking................
Indiana Jones is character that has been preformed by an actor who's personality was completely in sync with the character. A true movie star with a signature role. I'm left with the impression that Ford really cares and probably gave his "all" here, but it sounds like it's not enough to get past this grinding production that hasn't a lick of creative impulse or sincerity involved in anything it does.
Will I see it? Yes of course. I'll either check it out at the Drive-In or wait until it streams. Considering the years of entertainment Ford has provided me, I at least want to see this last effort.
I just wish I could be happy and excited about it.
Am not against sequels across the board, but sometimes - like after Indy 3 - yah just gotta let go. Indy riding off with his Dad was enough. Then there's Disney that used to be know for being an innovator churning out films full of color and catchy songs (even tho I don't usually like musicals) and I could admire the animation and imagination and actually laugh.
F*&^ it - may be few and far between, but I'll sit around and wait for the next Jack Reacher, and the upcoming Extraction 2 and season 2 of Andor. At some point there's gotta be a renaissance after these dark times, when making original characters and good writing comes around again, right?
