I finally saw this last night and I really enjoyed it, Harrison still has that old Indy charm. I liked Mutt's character a lot more than I thought I would and was really happy with Marion coming back. I really enjoyed the story too, at first the movie felt like something foreign to me, but as it progressed it fell right back into everything I know as being Indiana Jones. I won't go as far as to say that this is my favorite Indy movie -that distinction goes to Raiders- but it certainly (to me at least) fits in well the other three. I can't wait for number five and to have this on Blu-Ray.

BTW, I've got a few of you who have PM'd me to get one of the Marshall College Tees who do not have an RPF account, just so you know I have no problem with this and keep them coming. :rock

I don't know why I didn't mention this earlier but when I saw the spaceship coming out of the temple, the guy front of me said "Oh crap, a frickin' ship!?! I have expected it to be the Millennium Falcon!" It brought a small chuckle out from around us but I have to admit when I heard about an alien tie part of me was afraid ol' Georgie was trying to tie both franchises together somehow.

I just got back and I really enjoyed it. I dont know what people expected, but I got my moneys worth. The monkey scene was the only thing I thought could have been left out. I thought the action scenes where good, classic Indy. Good punch for punch fights, and a nice over the top story line. There was a bit to much CGI for my taste, but that can be said of most movies these days, I am not a fan of CGI. For movies like Transformers and Star Wars its fine but some movies can to without so much. Overall I would give it a solid 8 out of 10. Better than Temple and easily as good as Crusade.

I really enjoyed it. I also liked Mutt too, Shia did a great job.

One scene I really liked is when Mutt went to put that hat on and Indy pimped it from him, like he said "Hold on there douche bag, I ain't dead yet!"

Very happy with the movie, its a shame so many people didnt like it.

There was so little good...that is the problem.

I was REALLY hoping it would get better after the nuke scene but it never did.

I wanted to just fast forward through so many scenes…..I also thought about walking out more than once.

Glad I didn’t though. I would have missed:

-funny gophers

-three waterfalls

-swinging monkeys

-fistfight in the middle of ants

-Shai getting racked 10 times in a row

-Kate holding a sword, trying to look scary

-crazy guy holding a shiny skull for hours

-lead fridge

-Brody’s smiling head falling off

-snake rope

-Marion pretending to drive, just holding a steering wheel

-Marion coaching the sword fight between the cars

-Marion driving off a cliff

-tree branch killing most of the Russians

-the phasing mothership

-jumping martial arts guys, trying to be scary

-and of course, the ALIEN with knowledge

Oh man...what a disaster.

The Indy "magic" was not there at all with this one.

Perfect summary. Awful film. When you're watching a film and your mind wanders to what shall I have for dinner, or what jobs i need to clear at work, you know your in trouble.

As a Spielberg film, file under "The Lost World".

Bad, Bad, Bad!

Lets hope The Dark Knight can save summer.

Very happy with the movie, its a shame so many people didnt like it.

They seem to be in the minority, as our own poll and Rotten Tomatoes both have around 70+% (actually, as of this post the RottenTomatoes rating is now at 78%) giving Thumbs Up and Nielsen is showing very positive reactions from mainstream audiences.

The movie was received just fine (and is of course performing well at the box office). Don't let the loud Online Fanboy Meltdown fool you.

As good as the film did and as much as Lucas is already talking Indy 5 I think its a given that its already in the works.

Don't let the loud Online Fanboy Meltdown fool you.

My only problem with your comments is that you don't admit your own Fanboyism. If you will. You are just as much as an Indy Fanboy as you accuse others as being. What is your personal definition by the way? Anyone that doesn't agree? Be proud to be an Indy one if you like. Just don't tell others how to feel. That was my point to the negative thread. It was funny how quickly you came to that thread. Yet no person came into the positive thread to try to start anything. Makes one wonder.

I think it's pretty damn obvious the type of "fanboy" I'm referring to... which is clearly the type that would be right at home posting on the Aint It Cool News Talkbacks and just generally being a complete tool who's unable to discuss anything online without resorting to melodrama and parlor tricks to describe how he/she feels about something.

Thankfully, we don't have too many of those around here. That's a major reason why I participate in these forums and hardly any others. :duff

'I see a bad moon arisin'...' :D

Can't believe this thread is still a inefield of love and hate. The haters will continue to hate, the lovers just so. Time to LET IT GO people! I liked the film. Hell, I loved it and I'm seeing it again tonight, but I can see why others were disappointed and can accept that. Different dtrokes for different nerds...

Wat chu lookin' at Willis?
