TonyMeis, I took out the bottom connector of the neck but the neck will have a gaping hole and cannot fit well with the body.
Did u use anything to secure the neck to the body? Thanks.

Hmm.... I took the connector off from the bottom part of the neck. Cut about 1/8" of it, and stick the connector back in with crazy good. That's it :clap

Pretty easy mod

Thanks Tony for the neck mod but I am really terrible at handi-craft and I have a spare neck connector, so I may give it a shot.
Thumbs Up!!
Any guys getting the Metal Boss (Armour Version) here?

Yes, I'm getting the armor version, although I think it needs to be mod a bit more for videotape accuracy, but it looks like a great figure o er all....

No problem, glad it help. Personally I do not know Q that well, but he offers reasonable price, thought it would help. :clap

Really glad we have more hardcore fans that like MGS on board

I just deleted and edited some posts.

Please do not offer to sell this figure or publicly post stores selling this figure on this board per Dave.

Apologises for my postings on sensitive details for this figure.
I am sorry and I am slowly turning into a hardcore 12 inch MGS figure collector haha TonyMeis. Cheers to u and Singapore is getting the Armour version either today or tomorrow!!
Just a quick tip for anyone getting the Armour version, my retailers could not confirm if they r getting an extra hair piece (total of 2 instead of 1 only) for their coming shipment, nice of Inflames HeadPlay to include the hair piece if this is confirmed as there r 2 head scrulpt instead of one for the figure.

Really? So two full head will be available?

Yes, that is what ToysDaily forum collectors wgo have already collected their Metal Boss Armour version. The extra hair will come in later this week accordingly to their chinese posting, :)

I caved in and pre order the Metal Boss Armour Version as some of my local retailers are already jacking the price up the moment they received their stocks today. My seller assured me that should there be additional hair piece, he will pass it to me for sure.

I got the BDU figure last week. Will post some pictures of him when i get around to it. I paid just under £90, and feel that i may have overpaid slightly.
He is a great figure and looks right at home on my hot toys shelf, but there are a few things i wanted to tell everyone about him, if they are considering picking one up. Firstly, his uniform is quite tricky to put together. It comes with about 7 pouches that you can attatch to his belt, which is a very fiddly and at first confusing task. With all the hot toys i own so far, the figures needed mimimal to no assembly, but not with the metalboss. His uniform does looks great once you have put on his belt, pouches, and straps. The neck does sit high on his body like everyone said, so i decided to mod that and it looks much more natural, so thanks to whoever on this forum for the suggestion.

The figures articulation is hindered by the black body suit that he wears under his uniform. I found that trying to get him into his salute pose was impossible, as was the pose from MGS3 where snake holds the knife under his gun which was also a huge diappointment. Also The hands don't lock in as well as a hot toys figure would to its sockets.

Now about the headsculpt, it was nowhere near what the promo pics suggested, but after a week of having him, i have grown to like it. Im glad they went for the peacewalker snake head sculpt, as in MGS4 he looks different from Solid Snake (they are not identical clones anyway).
His tache could of been a little better, but it feels more alive than the painted-on medicom face. The eye patch is a waste of time. I am currently working on my own eye patch for him, one that will go all the way around his head this time!

It is a great figure, and i glad i have him. Im guessing he is quite a limited piece, and i have no problems with an unofficial figure in my collection, infact thats one of my favourite things about him. He stands his own, next to my hot toys and medicom collection. He looks the business and has a load of great accessories along with nice packaging.

Anyone who can find him for a good price should pick him up, even if hot toys have a license for MGS. Im hoping hot toys release a revolver ocelot with that coat, the boots and revolver to go with. Definate purchase there!!!

Thank you Dice!!
Also I changed my figure into the Snake Eater costume, prefer him in this costume and some photos to share again.
Seems like there is not too much love for this figure...such a cool looking figure

Hi, nice custom. How did you manage to get his black knife and carrying case onto his shoulder strap. It looks like you stretched it, but there does not seem to be any slack on the shoulder strap... Response would be great, many thanks, Dellyboy.

The pouches and belt stuff is also a hassle on Hot Toys Platoon figures.
They don't come fully assembled like this Metal Boss.

It is a good figure, not perfect but good.

I changer quiet a lot of things on mine.

Resculpted the stache
Sculpted an eyepatch
Changed the body with a HT one
Replaced the uniform with the HT Barnes
Replaced all the plastic buckle on the harness with metal buckles.
Put patches on the shoulder pads.

Just gotten the Metal Boss Armor version and heard that it is sold out at most places in Singapore, I did not know whether to create a thread for this figure but here goes....

Just some quick photos from my iphone 4S and this is an amazing figure, the shield will add to the weight of the figure but other than that...QC is very good on mine and I swapped the neck joints from the BDU version which makes the head sit lower and tight.

Hopping that Inflames will announce a production of "The Boss" figure and make this figure on behalf of Hot Toys lol....

Only complaint is that we r getting the same weapons, accessories from the BDU but the Armor version box package is much better.
