Well we've just acquire a new little guy and he's 4 weeks old (Bently). He's really the cutest thing you've ever seen my wife just adores him.

One big problem, we have a queen diva at home (Sadie) which is also very loving, playful and loves her ppl, especially yours truly. She's always at my side with pre-orders here at Sideshow, also at my side whenever opening new pieces and welcomes herself to the shippers. We truly do love her and she's a amazing part of the family. I've even got her to fetch and return toys and speak whenever she wants a treat. I think dog ppl don't necessarily think that cats can be trained this way but it's all with how much time and patience you have with your pet IMO.

Here's the bad news, she hates the lil new edition. She's now hissing at the scent of him on my hand, meowing some weird meows whenever she hears him yiping LOL. It's only been a day since we got the lil fella last night and brought him home in a carrier to where Sadie came down from the loft and took one sniff, hissed and ran away :lol

She's much better today and did her normal routine of waking me up for work, getting her treat and watching iron my clothes for work.

I guess my question or what I am seeking is more knowledge in merging our pets together is what this thread is about.... :monkey2

My cats did this every time I introduced a new one. They'd hiss at the new one and go a little crazy for awhile. Just give her time to adjust, and it should be fine.

Yeah there isn't much you can do. Sadie is trying to establish her dominance. They will be old friends in no time. I would recommend if they are getting physical to split them when your not home. This will also allow them to smell eachother through a door or what not. You don't want Sadie getting too playful and hurting him. Good luck!

By the way, I am now a dog person. :rock

something about a bodybuilder with cats makes me laugh.

cats bore me. they're right behind gold fish and turtles as far as entertainment value goes.

Definitely takes time. We have two cats, and the older of the two hated the newer edition at first. Hissed at him, didn't let him jump up on us, didn't let him do anything really. It probably took her about 2 years to either finally warm up to the new guy, or better yet, took 2 years to just not care anymore about him.

Yeah, just give them time. I have 3 cats or rather my sister has 3. When we introduce the first one, they would be hissing at each other everyday, after a few weeks they would be playing together. Same thing with the third.

:lol

nah but i'll agree with others here. i grew up with 3 cats in the house, and each one always did the same thing your cat is doing when a new one comes along. they are just doing their animal thing and establishing dominance and roles. they'll end up getting along just fine.

my cat did the same thing to my dog when he was a pup and we brought him home. now they play and get along. she still whoops his ass from time to time :lol

Pretty much what everyone else said; give them time :lecture

If that doesnt work you could put them both in a bag and shake it really really hard.
