You know how it is with those though.... shipping can do horrible things to your mintiness.

My point though is, you guys already have all this stuff. Isn't it weird or a bit OCD to be buying multiples and such? I mean what's really the point?

Flipping eh? Count me out. I got a pile of stuff I still need to unload.:lol I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch. Some things are definitely not for sure....

is it all that weird to keep an eye out for certain things like that?

after all, someone did do me a favor and sellf me back an ever-so-slightly damaged ex. so i could get it repainted. when people do you favors, you have the tendency to remember these things, no?

hmmmmm....... I wonder where you are going with this. :D

You guys are so OCD with your buying huh? Always watching ebay and stuff. :lol:lol

Actually Rory, my original intent was to get an exclusive and sell my regular one. But I've given up on that notion with all the fake exclusives going around. So I wasn't in it so much for the filpping but more for an "upgrade". Oh well, I'm perfectly happy with my legitimate regular version. I'll have some updated collection pics soon, got a new curio that lets me show off nearly my entire Marvel collection.

oh, i think you know :D

i guess i could have just sent you a pm about that auction being up, but it likely would have been gone by the time you read it.

I don't mean to be tough on you guys. I am just remembering how I was when I first started this hobby. It was buy buy buy for me. I always thought "oh if I don't want it later then I can just flip it." I scoured ebay endlessly as well. My experience with all this taught me a few things and I guess making comments about this behavior is my way of helping. In the end, I spent way more than I should have, many things didn't fare exactly as I thought they would, and then I had to lug a bunch of boxes around with me when I moved. All this and it's always fun to mess with Mesa. He knows he's OCD. :lol

that's exactly what i was aiming for, upgrading from the regular. oh well, maybe two heads aren't really better than one

I just like messing with you two. Really no hard feelings. :duff

You two are just the super buyers of this forum now. A title once held by myself and Ed, customizerwannabe. The torch has passed. :lol:D

Scouring ebay regularly really does pay off though. I remember getting my Iron Man exclusive for $300 when they were going for around $900 or more. That was such a sweet pick up. I think times have changed since then. Many people are much wiser now since all the grails of the past have been Marvel. Lot more competition out there now too. It's a reason I stopped. That and it just became too much of an obsession. :lol

there are times that i feel nerdy as hell checking ebay multiple times every day in hopes of scoring a relatively cheap collectible, but let's face it, we collect glorified dolls for god's sake... there's a bit of nerdiness involved no matter how you look at it.

Perfect example....... PF Doom :monkey2 I was so wishy washy about getting one back then from SS, but now I'll prob NEVER really get one since it's prob the most coveted PF

Speaking of nerdiness, a few of my friends are just starting to see my collection slowly being displayed. I keep getting the "40 year old virgin" metaphor. Oh well.

I did twenty five years active duty Army to include Grenada, Desert Storm, and two tours in Iraq and I will proudly display my PFs and comiquette right next to all the attaboys I've got from Uncle Sam. I'm six ft 250lbs and built like a linebacker. The term geek has been thrown about because I am one but oddly nerd is never used. The nascar guys have their model cars and the sports guys their bobbleheads and mini football helmets. This is for the kid in all of us that will never die; and after some of the horrors that I have witnessed in my fourty four years of existence I'm glad that mine is still there.

I get that from some of my friends, too. Then I remind them that I get laid way more than they do.

just an update...

after calling the seller out on redistributing recasts, i was given the option of a complete refund of the purchase price (including shipping) plus the cost to return the statue overseas. the guy seemed a bit spooked after offering up the solution of handing him over to sideshow and marvel's legal team, so that seems to be an easy way to cover your arse if you ever find yourself looking at a fake/recast.
