Ouch! $1000? I can't believe I passed on this when it came out! Back then I thought $500 was too much money for a collectable :slap

Lesson learned. Order everything you want now while you can, worry about it later. Once it's gone its really gone.

I remember telling myself I would never spend more than $500 on a collectible. At the time I already thought $350 was too much. Oh how times have changed, now I just hit the add to cart button without even looking at the price :slap

Always annoying when the seller describes it as mint but forgets to declare any noticable smudges or defects :slap With items that i've won in the past that had high value, i'd always ask the seller to send me clear pictures from various angles so that it gives me a better idea of what i'm buying. Sometimes certain sellers photograph their pieces from angles which hide possible defects :exactly: so best to ask them to take some more pics from my angle of choice

i don't think you'll ever find a mint absolutely perfect IM piece. it's just not possible. that's why they made this one, all though it be very slight, but battle damaged version.

Just want to share this with you guys

This is a Mark VI prototype with Mark III/IV finish. When this piece was being produced, Director John Favreau decided to go with a different paint app. He wanted Mark VI to be more radiant so this Mark VI color didn't make it.

By the way, this isn't my pic. This from a former sideshow employee.

I really like that paint app, maybe even more so that one SSC went with in the end. However, mine was sold last year - it was a difficult decision to make as im a massive IM fan but i never warmed to the actual sculpt and the base just cried out for a bit more colour and detail - it was just a little too bland for me, hence why i ended up customising mine before selling both this one and the War Machine Maquette. Still think SSC will announce a new 1/4 Iron Man in the coming months :yess:

Yes, to clarify my earlier post, I should say that by "mint" I meant no unintended weathering... mainly the bad chin and finger paint that afflicted many of the statues. They all have the weathered battle damage.

I don't mind the battle damage -- and this is one of my favorite PF's... but I wish the paint intensity was a little higher - the red and gold is a little dull compared to the movie.

Hi guys, been a while since i last on here...been working on a few things, notably customising my Dutch Premium Format base which is almost complete...then i have the task of repainting my Iron Man Mark III 1:1 bust to give it a nice fresh clean look. Here is a quick update pic of my custom Battle Damaged Iron Man Maquette including some new fresh bullet hole wounds...

Damn! That is a fantastic repaint dude. :clap

Well, can't wait for Sideshow to bring me a new 1/4. So I got the the Mark VI here and now. Take that Sideshow!

Here's my unboxing from today.
