I've attempted to darken the pictures but I don't think I'm going to get anywhere close to perfect trying to correct an error that was made when the pictures were taken. You can see the uneven light on the mask in the first picture. With reducing the exposure you can start to see how the gold still does have some shine (legs are the best example) and that the flash reduced details and made what would normally shine, flat. In the second picture you can see that the gold gets significantly brighter because the picture was taken even closer. The gold in the second picture has a different appearance from the gold shown in the first picture. The red also looks to be brighter in the second picture.

This is a close up picture taken by dr teng at SDCC under lower lighting and no flash.
