How are people so sure that it was a fake? Other than the seller ending it early what is the proof?

My guess is it ended because someone was smart enough to contact the Seller and offer $450 (or more) shipped if he pulled the auction.

(And, no, it wasn't me... though I WOULD probably have done that had I caught this in time)

Well, I don't know about that. Because that's exactly what I did and he never replied. Now maybe someone contacted him and offered him much more than his BIN if he dropped the auction(like oh, say around $700 or so)...... At any rate...I lose. Agony. AAAAAAAAA-GOOOO-NNNNEEEEEEEE

I think mine is about to end, and not because I've found one. There comes a point with some of these things where I just expend so much energy trying to track one down that I just give up. When it seems that its becoming obsessive...I just quit. Otherwise I wind up paying too much for it, and then shortly thereafter something better is released. I think I'll just wait for a new piece from SSC once the movie hits, unless their is a deal right around the corner shortly.
