Re: Iron Spider-Man pics thread...

I wish there was one trade paperback that I could read to know what this storyline is about. I see various TPBs re: Civil War, but I don't want to buy 20 TPBs.

You'd probably be alright with just the TPBs for Civil War, Road to Civil War, Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-Man.

Actually Civil War #1-8 does a pretty good job by itself...

But you really want to get majority of the gist of all the tie-in then I'll go with what Darth Waller said plus Fantastic Four, New Avengers and Black Panther #18, #21-25.

If you could only pick one arc of TPBs, definitely check out Amazing Spider-Man #529 - #538... those were some of the best issues of all the tie-ins imo.

I just got mine today and set him up. He's in the LOTR cabinet for now, but much of that stuff is being sold and will probably become all Marvel soon enough.

I'm going to be honest here, this is not an easy piece to setup. If I was setting him up out in the open, I could have done it in less than 5 minutes. But as I have him behind glass, I had to piece him together with the very limited access presented by the doors on the side of the curio.

Furthermore, this piece is HUGE. He takes up a very large footprint and I'm guessing people are going to have a hard time finding a place to put him... safely. In this cabinet, he takes up the entire depth, back of base against the back and his fingertips nearly touching the glass and this cabinet is about 16-17" deep. Left in the open, I can see this guy getting broken quite easily.

Having said that, I love the piece. To me, this is a MUST HAVE Exclusive piece. If nothing else, people that aren't familiar with Civil War will probably ask not only about who this version of Spiderman is, but why is Cap's shield and Ironman's helmet laying on the ground. My pics probably don't do it justice, they all were using the flash because it's night time and I don't have a tripod, and I rushed through them some as I was getting impatient with how long he took to setup. Anyway, here they are:

ACtually, I do. I clean/dust my display area way more often than the rest of my home. :lol:lol:lol

It's just the flash, accentuates everything, including streaks that you don't see under normal lighting. But there may be some residuals from me leaning on the glass when trying to install those damn arms without breaking anything. I could only do it with one hand, so it was a precarious balancing act.
