Feels like the Iron Patriot armour is the most featured.

There's a few scenes with it with the various people inside, where as the MK42 is mostly out of action with only two full cenes if i recall (Mansion Attack and Plane Rescue)

Do People think HT will take a loss now because of the little screentime of the armours and it's affect in peoples desire to spend $230-310 on all the varius figures they're doing?

Would they make more money from figures from Prometheus and X-Men and BTTF than from the Red Snapper and Igor and War Machine?

I think its more realistic to think they will earn more money with just one suit that didn't even got screen time tham with the prometheus license :lol

Anyway, its just my opinion, if I like a suit I will buy it it doesn't matter to me if it had screentime or not, technically WM wasn't in the movie but for me its a no brainer, I must have it :drool

Oh is it the grey one???

Yeah its the same armor that I was talking about, it was weird for me because I've seen the movie and I'm pretty sure the Nightclub armor is not there.. :dunno

It would seem people have a set amount from IM3 they'll buy and then leave the others. Thus it's logical to assume that with so many being produced and select ones being bought by people, due to pricing and limited use in the movie that they will take a loss on those non-essential figures.

However other license have other customers.

Imagine a store that sells Cola and only Cola. It'll make money from Cola drinkers, but if they also carried Bread, Chicken and other products they'd attract customers of those products and earn more income.

With HT exploiting Iron Man they are getting Iron Man customers, but with pricing as it is and such a wide selection it's likely they're saturating that market and will take a loss on the armours that aren't featured enough for people to warrant a purchase as customers can't keep up.

So the ones that customers can't keep up with or don't want because of such little screentime will not sell as well.

So selling other products (a BTTF figure) for other customers (BTTF fans) would make them additional money,

Here is the question: Would the income from a Marty Mcfly figure be more than Igor for example?

______

This is how i'd answer that...

BTTF fans have their BTTF money waiting for figures. Iron Man fans have probably already ordered 2-5 iron man figures, so they have less money to spend on figures like Igor where as BTTF have all their money to spend on a BTTF figure.

But it just happens to be that Iron Man fans drink a lot of different flavours of Cola.

But would they walk out with every flavour or just a select few, leaving to remaining back on the shelf?

What i'm trying to say is imo the customers won't be able to keep up getting all the armours and some will be left behind. Those that are left behind indicate a loss for HT. Would they have taken that same loss if that figure was instead a Robocop figure or would they finacially do better?

every flavour :p

but i do agree they've taken it too far, there is only so much time on a production schedule, and there is a whole heap of products that they *apparently* have the licence for that they could be turning out to please a wider range of fans and hopefully reach a better bottom line.

at the same time, they're just making the most of the IM3 hype thats around at the moment.

That's a good point Uncanny but there is no way to know that for sure right now, I can't consider myself a IM customer I don't even have a IM figure (yet) and I plannig to buy almost all the IM3 figures they release, trust me.. There are a lot of newcomers like me out there. And considering how fast everyone is going out of stock with these figures I'm sure they won't lose any money, but I guess there is no real way to know that for sure right now.

But I do think the PPS series are a risk.. I just think they know what they are doing, they might be willing to lose 10 000 to earn 1000 000 imho

Just to be clear i'm not against HT Iron Man. I'm just curious if these armours will mean a loss for HT since they are so lightly featured in the movie and they cost so much.

From a business standpoint i wonder if doing a BTTF figure in place of one of those drones would've sold better for HT.

I wonder if they're commitment to these armours before knowing the extent of their use will come back to bite them in the behind

Problem is we customers don't really know the actual demand for different HT movie licenses.

We can say people will buy BTTF figures, but not how many exactly will buy them.

Maybe HT did their research, maybe they didn't,
but I'm quite sure HT knows what they're doing.

Their new figures are selling like pancakes after all.

I think you're kidding yourself, and figures like Red Snapper will be going at a steep discount 6 months after release. :)

Let's be realistic, most of them are on screen for less time than it takes me to blow my nose.

for some people it's not about screentime tho, it's about getting the designs they like

Majority of people collect this sort of thing because it evokes happy thoughts of ships/characters of movies they love. No time to love any of the new suits, gone too quickly. They're not memorable, and that's going to be a problem.

Sure, you'll get the odd OCDer or completionist who just has to have everything IM, but even on this board, which should be seen as the more hardcore end of the hobby spectrum, there's simply not much enthusiasm about Red Snapper.

:exactly:

But they shouldn't overdo it, else they might loose their fanbase. With PI coming out with their 1:12, 1:6 and 1:4 lines, although restricted to certain markets, it's just a matter of time before someone else sets their foot in the one sixth line with a proper worldwide license.
