Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

I think Im gonna collect 1/12 scale ThreeA World War Robot figures when I start back collecting. I liked them before HT anyway. I miss my figures but I dont miss paying 200 dollars a piece for them. I couldve bought 3 of those 1/12 WWR robot figures for the price of 1 HT figure.

I think ill stick with 1/6. I used to collect WWI militaria, and that gets expensive REAL quick.. :rotfl

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

I am not over Hot Toys, I am just managing my collecting habits better. With the increasing prices, this has become easier. Instead of pre-ordering everything, I am focusing on certain lines and characters. I am getting away from so many rubber figures. Too many issues with them.

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

No but I'm cutting right down. I've got most of the characters I really want now from the Marvel & DC worlds & I can't see them start making figures from films like the Big Labowski, Goodfellas, Gladiator so I'm safe there & I'm actually going to have a slight clear out soon, selling on figures like Prince Dastan, John Connor you know the impulse buys. After saying all that they have just got the Star Wars licence :slap

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

My interest for Hot Toys started at the end of 2010 with the purchase of Berserker Predator and T-600. The excitement of HT was fresh in my mind at the beginning of 2011 with the announcement of Jack Sparrow and Indiana Jones. Unfortunately the wait for these two figures have been soooo long that it is drying up my interest. My question is if I want to continue with HT do I have to get used to these long waiting periods!!

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

I'm over the fact that they reiterate one thing and don't do something else like metal gear solid.

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

Cancelled all my HT preorders except for Indy and Cap. Going to be extremely picky about picking up any others.

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

it was with remorse but I cancelled my '89 batman and joker. my only hot toys for the forseeable future is RE4 Alice.

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

Going to make the Sparrow and Jones purchase. After that sit back and wait for Street Cloth Rocky!!!

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

I was thinking about leaving the hobby, but after careful thought I am confident that the figures are worth the money. I don't have too many bad vices. I hardly drink, gamble, and I don't smoke. I don't drive a fancy car or buy expensive clothes. My hobbies are figures, movies, comics, and related products. Many men spend way more money on motorcycles, cars, sports memorabilia, etc.

That being said, space is becoming an issue. So, I decided to sell a few figures (about 10). And now I am focusing on Marvel and Predators. I like Predators because the characters are cool and I will be able to have the entire line (I thought they would be done already, who expected Nolan?) I have a few Dark Knight pieces (including the Tumbler) but the Marvel figures give me more enjoyment.

I never spend over what I can afford. I know I could save all of this money. But what would I spend it on?

If it makes you happy, and you can afford it, stay with it.

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

Every time I tell myself I'm done with this hobby.. HT just pulls me back in!

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

I'm just kind of "over" Hot Toys Iron Man.

I'm getting the Mark V and will get Whiplash MK 2 if they make one, but other than them i'm over it, the Gantry while cool is just too much money, the closet requires you to emasculate a figure by posing it as a static empty shell and the Iron Monger is too big/costly for me with little interest in that character.

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

^^^ You sound like me... LOL... Trouble is not only HT is pulling me in now I have my first Enterbay figure on PO...

Which EB figure have you on PO, Leon? I've only just started getting in to EB, it used to be pretty much just HT but I managed to get EB Jack Bauer for a great price & loved it which convinced me to get there GoD figure which I love to. Waiting for my Leon now :)

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

can someone post on HT's facebook "where the ____ is elias?"

the announcement of yet another iron man product, this time ANOTHER rerelease has me kinda pissed. HT elias isn't like rorschach where we just assumed it would come - THEY ACTUALLY TEASED THE ____ING THING. they said it was coming. only reason i bought barnes and taylor was coz i thought we'd have the trio.

am i over HT?

Re: Is anyone else just kind of "over" Hot Toys?

I'm starting to believe Elias isn't happening. I too bought Taylor and Barnes, hoping that we would at least get the three main characters. Hopefully one day they will release him but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one.

Same here from me except with the Sucker Punch, X-Men First Class and all of the other license that get a mere two figures.

This obsession with Iron Man is getting bad, not to mention the rumour now of a HT 89 Batwing, is Fecking ridiculous. :pfft:

I bet many more would buy the Sucker Punch girls if they knew HT were gonna complete the line up and not quit to go back to remaking Iron Man and Batman.
