The Voldemort PF will be my first GG statue (that is if it gets released). I will still buy from the company as long as they produce quality products. Sideshow may be the top of the heap, but I'll still get what's good and interests me as long as it's done well. I enjoy collecting some obscure stuff, and not always the commercial favorites.

Re: Is Gentle Giant ?

Those faux bronze dios and SSE dios at 50 ES are nice and all but nowhere near as epic as Grey Hulk vs diorama.

Maybe, for the dios it is still too early to tell; and don't forget the low ES on the SSE busts.

:confused::confused:

Like an ES of say 50 ..... yep, they still do that.

:confused::confused:

No, I think he was complaining about being "burned" by the Grey Hulk dio announcement; it caught a lot of people off guard.

Oh No, I am talking characters and EXs people actually want to buy. Not some cheap faux repaint. I think those will never rise back in value based on other repaint attempts of the past.

The Harry Potter statues look good, but after the Obi-Wan in Clone Armor I've decided I'm not going to buy anything from Gentle Giant until I've seen the production piece and know it looks good.

Re: Is Gentle Giant ?

The ONE piece from GG I have left is the Vader kneeling statue, that IS a great piece; I won't be parting with it.

:vader

That statue has a great unique pose, we don't see Vader kneeling often, it was a really interesting moment in the movies...

The only other thing from GG I am/was considering were the Wizard of Oz busts - for once the bases were actually sizeable and not awkward; and the sculpts were great. I want the line for my daughter's room.

Those busts looked damn nice, but I have no idea how they would ship them. They looked fragile as hell.

Has anyone that placed an order with them for any of their sales items received anything from them? I place an order with them Nov 27 and my order is still showing as processed, but not yet shipped. They were quick to charge my card. I have sent several e-mails to their so called customer service about canceling the order but haven't heard anything back from them. Does anyone have any other contact information for canceling an order with them other than the generic customer service address??

GG doesn't have any higher end stuff, and that's another problem when it comes to their health and longevity. They haven't expanded their customer base beyond those who will spend $50 or less on a collectible--and the customer base they did have has been shrinking because of crappy customer service and oversized edition sizes leading to horribly devalued prices on the secondary market. (I wouldn't be able to sell my unopened Elrond bust for ten bucks on eBay if I tried.)

That's how I see it as well.

Their CS and QC is just downright horrible. :mad:

I was really looking forward to thier HB2 line and the HP PFs.

I quit collecting SS after the Grey Hulk vs Spiderman. Some people work during the newsletter, and no way I'm paying the price of a car for a Statue.

So .......

Two years + and you are still here?! :rolleyes: :gun
