Easy for you to say. You just got your dream DX-13 figures, so you can afford to be magnanimous instead of being a judgmental cynic. *throws up thinking about a-dev*

Until Hot Toys comes to the table with a T2 John Connor, I will always feel a-dev has been short changed.

Show some pity. Imagine gazing upon your Terminator collection and all you can see is a hole the size of Edward Furlong :monkey2

Dammit. One day you will, and that will be the day that I claim victory.

One day perhaps. But not today.

:1-1: There is a clear need in my collection for an annoying adolescent boy with an asymmetrical bowl-haircut. Sound chip compulsory.

Though actually I do now have a pretty good custom

Shouldn't there be a Terminator Harley before a child John Connor? Still I'm loving the Terminators!

I have to say that Majority of Hot Toy's Customers are Ironman Collectors.

True Story. Haters gonna hate.

To answer the OPs question, Yes.

But they're gaining Iron Man fanboys who'll snap up any armours they spew out, so it's not impacting their bottom line.

Lines like Prometheus, XFC, or BBTF Dave?

:D

:exactly: people say it allows them to take chances with releasing others that might not sell as well, but they don't, not in abundance at least.

Lone Ranger and Tonto I'd file under the taking chances umbrella.

Yes and No. It was announced and provided shortly arter, wheras others are long gestating.

That however is more about **** planning and dicking customers about than Iron Man.

I don't think it's costing any customers at all. Even if it takes two or three more years (or five, for that matter), BTTF, Star Wars or Prometheus fans will still be there to buy up HT's entire run. They won't lose a single sale by squeezing the hell out of Iron Man while it's hot and waiting on the other licences. If some people get impatient and leave the hobby, there will be two or three waiting to replace them.

Yes, Lone Ranger was announced but it is still taking a risk on a license that isn't going to sell nearly was well as IM correct?

Sorry, I'm a little confused about the point you're trying to make here and which customers are getting dicked? :dunno

Announcing something as coming soon, building excitement among those who wish to buy said product then not providing it is dicking them about.

If they never said "expect Arkham City figures to come soon" to Batman fans then those people wouldn't be waiting over two years for them to arrive for order.

The stuff like Johnny Depp, and various new/unreleased Disney movies they go after don't make a lot of sense to me, from a business POV. Because those figures almost inevitably get clearanced out. But Chan is crazy like a fox, so there must be something to it.

He has said many times that he makes alot of decisions based on him being a fan. I would guess he loves Johnny Depp, cause yeah, some of the choices they make with Depp involved... :dunno

Is Iron Man costing them customers? Probably not. But it is costing them customer diversity, which is what you need to expand your overall customer base and continue to grow as a company.

Right now they are stagnant. And they are effectively putting most of their eggs in one basket, so if something unexpected happens on that side of things they would take a huge hit. Particularly as they have been alienating a lot of past customers with a combination of either ignoring former key licenses, or announcing products that then never seem to see the light of day, all while yet more Iron Man variants, Marvel movie characters, and Johnny Depp characters take first, second, and third priority over everything else.

They have Batman and Star Wars, two of the biggest licenses in the world, and they are barely using them (especially the latter). That just seems like madness to me.

I don't agree about Batman. Over the last few years there's been:

Batman (TDKR)
1/4 Batman
Bane
Catwoman
Swat Gordon
Joker 3.0
Bat-Pod 2.0
Tumbler 2.0
Tumbler 2.0 (Camo)
60s Batman & Robin
89 Batman
89 Joker
89 Batmobile
89 Joker (Mime)

They are stalling really long on Batman Returns & Arkham City, but they certainly aren't under-using the franchise overall.

I still think people don't realize that delays are effected by the actor & company owning the rights not getting back to HTs for their approval. They have said this many times in interviews and it causes delays.
I doubt HTs are high on the list of priorities for companies & actors to devote their time to. Some do it quickly because they are into it, others don't.

Nobodies hating. its cool to Have Iron man and his armors but why make figures of EVERY scene hes in. I swear if there was bathroom scene with Tony taking a massive dump it would be a HT exclusive.:lol

Hey you, don't bring facts and logic into this. This is a "***** about Iron Man" thread.
