I know Sideshow has said that they won't be at Celebration themselves, but does that mean that there definitely won't be any exclusives sent to the show, perhaps with another retailer? AFX is offering a Gentle Giant exclusive piece, so maybe they could have a Sideshow one too?

With the Clone Trooper Lieutenant as an exclusive for SDCC, I was hoping for a Clone Trooper Captain or Pilot for CV. And maybe some other cool stuff...?

It is CV so IF there is gonna to be an exclusive I think the Snowtrooper or Boba Fett would be more appropriate :lecture

If they aren't going, there won't be one. I don't think Luke or any of the other C4 exclusives turned out too well for them.

They are better off not doing one like he said...it seems their exclusives were just rehashes of previously done figures. That Luke was ridiculous..i think you could pick it up for $30 off fleabay..and thats pretty sad when its considered an exclusive to an event.

But at the same time..you cant do a Fett or Snowtrooper because they would be in high demand and limiting them to a small portion of people would be stupid on their part.

Do we really have to point out why the C4 Luke didn't go like gangbusters? :slap

To answer the question raised by this thread, it looks like Sideshow is pretty much the only major SW licensee who won't be at Celebration V. Hasbro will be there. Gentle Giant will be there. eFX will be there. LEGO, Museum Replicas, DK, and on and on. Hell, even Kotobukiya will have a booth. But not Sideshow. Again, they're basically the only licensee who won't be there.

So I think it's safe to say there won't be an exclusive item on sale. But, hey, they might send Gift Cards. Yippie!

I hope they send GC's ---That would show some sign of the GREATEST COMPANY EVER .

i ll play devils advocate here, they have that clone armor and can keep pumping out literally dozens of different clones. makes sense on their end.

Hey Irish, you left ACME off your list of major Star Wars licensees who'll be there :wink1:

I'm definitely disappointed my pals at Sideshow won't be there. Any day where I can hang out with Brant, Heath and the gang is a good day in my book! I have no inside knowledge here, but I'd think you'd all be right. No booth... no exclusive.

P.S. The Gentle Giant/AFX exclusive is a touring exclusive. That will also be available at SDCC for sure....

That's because I was setting the table for you to say it. ;) :lol :hi5:

You can bet I'll be dropping by to say "hello" when I'm not busy in the R2 Builders room or running panels. :rock

I am having trouble getting my mind around this whole "Sidehow-won't-be-at-CV-and-are-not-going-to-have-an-exclusive-for-it" thing.

man, I missed that Sideshow wasn't going to be there. They almost ALWAYS have the best display at the booth (outside of the GG Jabba). Have they stated the reason they decided not to come?

Probably because it would be expensive to send a crew, booth, and the exclusives from California to Florida plus have to cover travel exspenses and a hotel. The cost was probably more than what the profit would be.

And why is that any different than before?

And why is that any different than before?

A policy they instated a while back. This way they can go balls-out at SDCC.

Don't worry though, they've said they have plans to acknowledge the 30th of Ep V, but it's most likely going to be at SDCC.

Given that the anniversary was 11 days ago, I'm eagerly waiting to be unimpressed! :rock:rock:rock

:lol Yeah, we might be lucky enough to see a couple of EMPIRE items announced 2 months after the apex of the 30th Anniversary that won't actually ship for almost a year. :impatient:

Watch 'em go all-out for ROTJ in 2013, though. Even though they've already given that film more than enough attention already.

I think you also have to look at the time span between SDCC and CV. It is only about 3 weeks. Thus, I am sure the logistics of getting everything that they display from SoCal to Orlando and all the staff time out of the office is too much for such a short time span. For the other Celebrations and SDCC there has been 2 months or more between them.

Never mind the fact that LucasFilm took so damn long to announce exactly when CV would occur that to suddenly change an already full product pipeline for an exclusive would be too much interruption.
