Is it fair to say that Terminator collectibles are one of the most popular?

Just wanted to start a discussion to see what people think about this. Most threads that are Terminator related seem to go on for a long long time and personally I think next to Star Wars, Terminator collectibles are some of the most popular in the movie collecting world.

I guess so but marvel covers so many more characters so I don't really put them in the same category. I guess I should have stated that when I started the thread.

So you think Terminator collectibles are more popular than...let's say...the Batman or Iron Man ones? I don't know, but I think they are not

If you're checking this section..then it may appear so as this is "Aliens & Robots" section..so it's logical that Terminator would be widely discussed and "accepted" here.
But I wouldn't say it's more popular then Predator, Alien, Batman or other similar collectibles.

Predator is right up there. The Hot Toys T2 thread seems to have the most hits in this section, but that's probably because that figure was unlike anything else we'd seen up to that point from the franchise, whereas HT Predators have been released consistently for awhile now.

Then, I would guess Batman/Joker would be pretty high up the list. And if you consider Marvel/DC as equivalent to Star Wars, then yeah, Terminator's gonna lag pretty far behind all that stuff lumped together.

And then, this is a forum for high-end collectibles. If you throw in mass-retail collectibles, it falls even further down the food chain.

I would say no. While we see dedicated fans, there are considerably more popular licenses making considerably more money. Now if you're arguing "is it one of HT's most popular," that's up to debate. Batman and IM are their cash cows ATM, and I think even Predator comes in higher when you look at all the releases in that license compared to Terminator collectibles."

Dark Knight Batman used to run the show in terms of popularity and annoying fanboyism (2008-2009). I actually got to the point where I sold off my Dark knight collectibles because I could not look at them anymore(Dark knight fever was making me sick).

I have bought them back since then, but for a while their it was TOO MUCH.

When "Dark Knight Rises" is released I am going on a vacation from the forum.

I'd have to disagree considering their Terminator line was awarded best selling.:dunno

I agree with many of the points here. However the marvel section is often flooded with iron man threads but I think that's because hot toys release so many figures from the movies. Also alot of iron man talk is taken up by people venting thier frustrations with sideshows piss poor paint jobs. In terms of the recent batman movies I personally feel that is a fad and those films may not hold up as well in twenty years as the terminator films have. I could be bias about this subject because I am a little bit Terminator obsessed. In terms of the sci fi/ robots section though I do feel terminator Is discussed more than the alien movies and to an extent predator too even though there are lots of variations of the character.

Terminator line very well received- the T2 t-800 figure is topping $250 plus on Ebay...amazing- the new T-800 headed in that direction now. Lots of guys apparently missed out when they came out!
