Is SideShow getting more or less popular?

Not sure, I think the TBD is kinda their way of going "inclusive" with the exclusive versions. that way, they don't go
" EXCLUSIVE EDITION SIZE 10,000!" and then only have 350 of them get ordered. this way, they leave it open for a few weeks, then close it, and round up to the nearest 50 or so.

sideshow is about the same, people not as fanatic about it now because of the ES: TBD change on all new statues, but it doesnt mean the brand is less popular.

HT however...crash n burn..

I can't speak for a general trend, but as far as my collection goes, my spending on SSC has decreased about 80% from what it used to be and thats more due to product choices rather than economic type reasons.

I would say like a lot of use we have become much more picky about what we buy. It was easy to pick up bunch of 12" figures at 50-60 bucks but now with the current prices you have to be much more picky unless you have lots of cash to spend.

I'm certainly a new Sideshow Fanatic. I started out collecting Hot Toys, but was turned off a bit by them when they started re-releasing figures I had spent craploads of money attaining. While Hot Toys are fun to pose and are undoubtedly the leading 1/6 figure company, the Sideshow Statues are friggin' impressive. Their size is captivating.

I do like some of the Sideshow 12 inch figures as well. Their Darth Vader is cool as heck! It's definitely a must have for any Star wars fan.

Plus the fact that they remake a v2 version in such a short term doesn't really help with the situation.

Funny i am the opposite, started thinking it's pretty crazy spending $300+ for a statue and only buy very selective pieces i absolutely must have. Nowdays i dont even try to restrain myself, just pretty much buy everything that looks good.

Only talking about statues, dont care much for the 12" plastic toys.

They put out a lot of great stuff, but it isn't all stuff from licenses that I want to purchase/collect. I'm pretty happy with my existing Star Wars PF collection, although I will pick up the droids if they ever happen.

My main focus right now is the Lord of the Rings statue line, and they haven't had an announcement in over four months. But I'm ready and waiting to spend some money if they decide to put another one up for preorder.

Products purchased has decreased by 80%, but I am basically still spending the same amount :monkey4

There more popular. Edition sizes are rising. I still can't believe the 1:1 Cap Bust is LE 1000 while Wolverine and Thor are LE 300. I was going to try and be a completist for the Marvel bust, but going to pass now.

HT and EB are now going to do PF's, if they start 1:1 stuff SS is in trouble.
